    Core Rules Survivor

Curse you Metamagic feats! You make my lowly wizard pay for your costly devices *twice*! :p

    Firebrand question (Spell Compendium)

I only mark the squares where there are foes. I've hardly ever placed them all in a combat, not enough bodies usually. When fighting against armies and the like we're usually on graph paper for scale and just draw on the paper in that case.

DM of the Rings Web Comic

Yup one of the best I've read yet, many campaign truisms in there and a blast to read through. Check it out if you haven't!

    Complete complete series?

Complete Mercenary sounds about right. Complete Villain being the far end of that spectrum from Complete Champion. :p

[PHB2] Immediate Magic (Abrupt Jaunt) Spell-like or Extrodinary?

Right, I suggested we use Abrupt Jaunt as a Swift action instead of as an Immediate action. This removed the ability to negate an attack through interruption and relegated it to use only during my character's turn, in addition to taking up a swift action for that round. Using it in this way...

[PHB2] Immediate Magic (Abrupt Jaunt) Spell-like or Extrodinary?

I've gotten a chance tp use this variant for a Conjurer character from 1st-5th levels, does it seem like this is one of the best choices from the Immediate Magic list? It sure did to me. We parred it down to a swift action to prevent the whole negating-a-foes-turn ability it normally provides as...

    Shield Other Cheese

I agree with Caliban, when the fighter or rogue take half-damage each cleric takes half that damage. Furthermore, the amount of damage sent to the clerics cannot be again divided between them as they are not being "dealt" damage from a source (it's an effect of the spell) so the damage stops...

    [Complete Champion] Spontaneous Divination

Oh the feat is certainly off. Does the feat have a prereq at all? I can understand the feat requiring the caster to be a Diviner specialist in order to select and the spell would have to be known by the caster. Oh the question should always be why NOT specialize my friend. Increasing the...

What new Dungeon Tile sets would you like to see WotC produce?

Yea, barges, sailing ships, and two sections for larger ships would be a huge bonus for me. Would love to see that. Asking for a few multi-levels for ships and larger buildings may be asking a bit much but that would be damn righteous. I love these things.

    XP and PCs gaining Templates

His total XP doesn't change. Though I make use of Template Classes (a template broken down into levels equal to the LA that are taken at each new level gained instead of another class level) so the progression can be gradual rather than a sudden jump like that.

Kansas City, KS - New Star Wars Saga RPG Campaign

With the new Star Wars Saga RPG release coming in May I'm already gathering a group of excited Star Wars gamers for jumping right into the new system! Campaign is set to start this summer in June. I have an introductory game session planned for Memorial day if folk are interested in coming to...

Kansas City, KS - D&D 3.5e Midnight Campaign

Looking to add 1 maybe 2 players to our group of 4 players. I am running a Midnight campaign loosely based on events in the Midnight module Crown of Shadow. Current party level is 2nd and we've only had three game sessions so we're at a great place for new players to jump right in! We have a...

    Monster Identification

You're not alone there mate. Many DMs keep it simple but beautifuly functional thus (or some variation thereabouts): Common = DC 10 Uncommon = DC 15 Rare = DC 20 Unique = DC 30+ Leaving the rarity of the creature entirely up to the DM and the circumstances of their game world.

    Best variant AoO rule?

To enhance a swashbuckling flavor for a game I'm considering using this: Movement within 5-ft. of a creature does not provoke Attacks of Opportunity. Movement through spaces threatened by creatures beyond 5-ft, either through reach weaponry or natural reach, provoke Attacks of Opportunity as...

AC 56 at level 6! You too can do it!

Sounds like someone is doing some serious slacking and wanting other folk to crunch the numbers for them! Aww how sweet...NOT! :p Now go and play with your books or something! We're timing you Mr. Oh-it-is-pretty-simple-to-do lol. Oh and thanks for the funny.

How Many Groups Do You Play In?

I try to keep to a maximum of two table-top groups, usually weekly or bi-weekly games. Normally I'm running one and playing in another, but as of late I've been enjoying playing in not one game but two! Right now one group plays D&D and the other Star Wars D6.

Re-balancing the 1/2 Orc for my own campaign

IMC here are the additions I ended up making to the half-orc: Strong Hands: +2 grapple and to resist disarm attempts. A half-orc’s strength provides them an advantage when fighting with their bare hands. Their ferocity in combat also makes it notoriously difficult to separate a half-orc from...

    Negative Levels/Level Drain Variant

Keep in mind that melee types usually have alot more CON than the softer spellcaster types though. Sounds like it could balance out.

Sub Levels -> Alternate Class Features

Lol sure sounds like D&D needs to just give up on all the individual class abilities and suit up with class talent trees instead ala d20modern already heh. Just introduce new talent trees, would be alot tidier...
