Warlock Pacts for the Holy Men

Sorry about the misspelling. I tried to make sure to avoid that but it was late and i wasn't thinking very well. Thanks for the idea. I think I might try this. This way I have a basis for the powers.

Warlock Pacts for the Holy Men

The idea is that the a warlock would be a "cleric" devoted to an angel or saint within the church. I was hoping for something with more"magic" and less "hit stuff" with my weapon, hence the reason I don't want to use a cleric. (I could be wrong but alot of the powers seem to revolve around using...

Warlock Pacts for the Holy Men

I am wondering if anyone has seen or done work on warlock pacts based on the idea of a pact with a saint or angel? If not does anyone have any suggestions for me?

What of each edition do you like?

Considering how much people seem to like to talk about what they like or don't like in 4th edition I thought it might be fun to have people list what they liked in each edition of DnD that they have played. (I don't really care to hear what wasn't liked though. Want to keep the thread positive.)...

    Literary (and other) settings wishlist

Could you please fork it? I would be interested in attaining this information.

    Literary (and other) settings wishlist

I would like to see what someone could do with Recluse and Darkover as a setting. And while I know it isn't fantasy I would like to see someone do something with the Dune series. (PS: If any of these have been touched in previous editions could someone link the product? :) )

How To Make Almost Everyone Happy

While your idea is not necessarily crazy I have to agree with others as to why Wizards doesn't do such a thing; they believe it will cut into their profits. Remember they want people to keep buying new product and this means phasing out old ones. Oh and because the thread reminded me of it...

Why hate onthe drow? (Forked Thread: How is FR changing with 4E?)

I have always thought of the Underdark along the lines of the hollow Earth idea. In a fantasy setting the world being hollow to a degree, never bothered me. Over all I agree with ProfessorCirno that the Drow in Eberron have a more logical existance. *Shrug* That's just me though.

Why hate onthe drow? (Forked Thread: How is FR changing with 4E?)

I seem to recall similar wording in the thread about gnome hate. Was it you?

Why hate onthe drow? (Forked Thread: How is FR changing with 4E?)

Forked from: How is FR changing with 4E? Over the years I have noticed a large amount of hate directed at Drizz't. Why? What is it about the character that drives people to hate him so? Is it just the way eveyopne seemsto want to copy him? (Side note scimitar duel wielding ranger does not =...

The fate of the Advanced Player's Guide

I only recently became interested in 3pps. In fact it was thanks to you and Clark this happened. I wish the two of you luck and look forward to your book.

Forked Thread: Started playing D&D without being introduced by someone else?

I spent many years growing up looking at the 2nd ed books at the local Half-Price. I finally started playing when a group of friends and I decided to use some books we had bought. (It was new for all of us.)

    Rate WotC as a company

3/4 The physical quality of the DnD products bothers me. KotS is a big example of this. Then there are things like the characters sheets and the online segment of 4ed. The minis have horrible paint jobs. There is also the issue of the GSL. That said as far as I can tell, there other products...

    Is alignment really that rigid?

Having read the boards for sometime, much longer than I have been a members, I have repeatedly seen this idea that the alignment system is too rigid as highly proper. I have never seen this as true. I have always found plenty of room within hte alignment system to flesh out characters and to me...

Forked Thread: What is the difference between Science Fiction and Fantasy?

This is why the first one didn't stick with me as much, though as an over generalization it still has some merit. Classifying Interview With a Vampire as fantasy is a stretch. Belgrariad is about godd(change) vs evil(stagnation). (And no that I think about it it, I believe it was inthe Riven...

Forked Thread: What is the difference between Science Fiction and Fantasy?

I once read (don't remember where) a general comparision of sci-fi and fantasy. There were two differences that have stuck with me (the second one more than the first). 1. Where fantasy would give you a watch and describe how it looked sci-fi would describe how it worked. 2. Fantasy tends to...

D&D 3.x My first 4e run : It will be hard to quit 3.5.

Thanks for sharing your experience. BTW if you hadn't mentioned the part about the English I would have never guessed. I find it interesting how much your players seem to prefer magic items. My players usually use mundane items or their abilities to solve problems and use the magic items really...

Re-opening an old can: Warlocks and Angels

To answer the question of why not make pacts with angels instead of acting as a cleric or paladin of a god, there are several reasons. One is that becoming a warlock seems to require training as well. There is also the issue of making a pact with an angel is not the same gaining powers from the...

Re-opening an old can: Warlocks and Angels

Another idea that might be interesting is to have one of the more influential members o fa church making a pact with an angel that either serves another god (opposing or not) or an angel of an opposing ideal. ex The god served is one that promotes peace and passive resistance and the cleric...

    Excerpt: Multiclassing (merged)

BTW I did look and I saw one that was put up early and at the time I did not see any one place a link in it. The apology was in case it was put up before I hit the post button. I actually started typing the thread before midnight thank you but was called away for a few minutes.
