    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

The sorcerer, dude, or do we need to call him by his full title for you to recognize it? Anyway, I don't even know why I bother with this when all you ever do is cover your ears and scream whenever things don't go your way, I have better things to do than to play your game. Like watching grass...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

The dragons don't care about the punny sorcerer with 10 Str either, they would just eat him and destroy everything he ever accomplished. Not much honestly, but better than having an Overlord running around.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Yeah, what Galandris said. I also doubt strong, apex predators like the dragons would care about punny, tiny, soft, skinny, weakling sorcerer with 10 Str and without claws fangs or natural armor. Heck, many of those dragons themselves would have even higher Charisma than the Bastion, and...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

You also forgot to address the dragons, pal, so unless the DM-Pwease machine also known as the Bastion can deal with them, he isn't a threat to any world, as the dragons wouldn't even alow it. Even if it could bind Sul, and it can't do so, no planar bound army can even begin to stand up against...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

You plan to somehow planar bind Sul Khatesh? You know she can polymorph herself into a humanoid, beast or giant to absolutely invalidate your planar binding, right? If you somehow could bind her in the first place with her magic resistance, +15 Charisma saving throws and legendary resistance...

D&D 5E (2014) Berserker is balanced with Zealot without exhaustion from Frenzy

One idea that crossed my mind was switching up Frenzy and Retaliation, seeing how the third and fourth attack impact the damage curve. Retaliation at level 3 offers damage on par with Zealot without the exhaustion downside, and exhaustion is more easily handled at level 14 than 3. Both features...

D&D 5E (2014) How much magic do you have in your game?

I voted 5th, the upper end of Tier 2. It would be the most powerful of the common magic of the NPCs. The royal mage, the town head priest, those kinds of folks. Level 6 and up I consider high magic because of the limits to arcane recovery and font of magic, warlocks getting mystic arcanum...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

Hey, can't a sphynx just travel back in time, or send assassins back to kill the sorcerer as a baby, or before it got so good at crying in a corner? That's another creature that deals easily with the demigod of nothing.

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

I am not going to search through all the posts for the ever changing armies of these kings of nothing, but come to think about it, without a way to arm most of the army with magical weapons (I suppose some of their forceful friends would come with them), and having to spend most of not all their...

    D&D 5E (2014) 20th level Sorcerer vs the world

All those demigods spend their lives isolated just sitting around half asleep, maniacally setting up defensive measures against an attack that will never come because nobody cares about the sorcerer as it just stays at home surrounded by a bunch of conjured minions that, were it not for the...

    D&D General Downplaying Humanity

In my current setting, not only humans are downplayed, but almost all of the humanoid races. It's a primal world where the wild hasn't been, and can't be dominated by humanity, and humanoid settlements must negotiate with elemental, fey and primal spirits to live in harmony with nature instead...

D&D 5E (2014) Death Knight Legendary Actions & Lair Actions

Sure, no problem. And thanks! Yeah, if I ever rework my DK I would probably lower the speed of the legendary action. Also, 2 legendary actions with one attack per LA is more elegant than Double Strike, being one of my first monsters meant I was trying to adhere to the standard 3 legendary actions.

D&D 5E (2014) Death Knight Legendary Actions & Lair Actions

One of the first monsters I made a legendary version of was the Death Knight. It ended up being CR 21, because I added 3 Legendary Resistances with the legendary actions. I guess it's CR without Legendary Resistances would be around 19. These were the legendary actions I added, with notes on the...

D&D 5E (2014) Kobold Press (and are they the new Paizo?)

I I see, thanks! I have only read the adventure, and it seemed pretty OK to me, so I was puzzled in the light of so many negative opinions online. I guess my players like that style too, that's why it would seem good enough for me.

D&D 5E (2014) Kobold Press (and are they the new Paizo?)

What would that good stuff be? I'm genuinely curious, this is a rare take on the adventure, so I would like to know your thoughts.

    D&D 5E (2014) Switching Frenzy and Retaliation?

I saw here some time ago a thread comparing the damage of the berserker and the zealot, showing they were more or less evenly matched in damage up until level 14 when the berserker gets Retaliation and the zealot gets the immortality. This showed to me that Frenzy wasn't so great to deserve the...

    D&D 5E (2014) What Is Your "Must-Have" House-Rule (If Any)?

Rangers are prepared casters the same way paladins are. I can't imagine why WotC didn't make them. That way to begin with.

    D&D General Monster harvesting mechanics?

I use a series of free homebrew PDFs called "creature loot", requiring different skill checks depending of monster type (medicine for humanoids vs survival for dragons vs arcana for aberrations for example). The Ranger got advantage on her favored enemies, so that was a very appreciated use of...

    D&D 5E (2014) Additional Mystic Arcana at levels 19 and 20?

It just occurred to me, at levels 19 and 20, "traditional" full casters get an additional 6th and 7th spell slot respectively, while the warlock's Mystic Arcanum remains in one per spell level. Is there any balancing reason I'm not seeing for this to be this way? Would it be to broken to give...
