How something like this "rolls off the tongue" does not matter in the slightest. It takes a person literally less than 1 second to say what they mean. Saying "the 2024 revision of 5E" or "6th Edition" does not impact anything. You forgot about the third and correct version: 'fully compatible...

What difference does it make? They don't call it a new edition and a bunch of people say "Yes it is!"... or they call it a new edition and a bunch of people see how little of the totality of the game was actually changed and they say "No it isn't!" What is the actual result of either option...

Really? Seeing thousands of different people all of whom have thousands of different interpretations and uses of a rule is useful? :D To me, that just seems the result would be to not bother writing any RPG rules at all, since every single player would only be stretching every rule like taffy...

I think we should hold off on getting concerned about this until we have evidence that it actually is happening. One errata document does not a trend make.

I don't care enough about all the terminology and wording regarding all the facets of hiding, stealth, cover, concealment, invisibility etc. etc. myself... but just from a common-sense POV... If you are hidden because you are behind heavy cover... See Invisible doesn't let you look through...

DDB would be a reason to stick with thing as they are, I agree... but my own instinctual feeling is that because it's merely just a character sheet program really, it has never and would not ever reach the heights of usage across the globe that would make the reprogramming of the system too much...
