Actually, CHA doesn't need to be that high. I would suggest at least 12, but you're only really going to have 1st level spells, so it's not a top priority. I would put STR and CON high on the list. DEX and INT second. WIS is good for will saves and such.

This seems to beg the question; can you raise a character that was killed by gaining too many negative levels? What if they gain enough negative levels then fail ALL the saves 24 hours later and are raised 2 hours after that?

We get around this by just not requiring mundane, simple components; although expensive components are ceratinly needed.
