WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

It isn’t. Many skills requiring a big investment in time to learn have formal or informal safeguards for its practitioners to make money. MDs have laws making it illegal to practice without a license and control over licensing bodies. Lawyers have much the same. Sports have a high entry bar...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

Those doctors are teaching because they’ve already learned a great deal about their profession and ALSO because they keep practicing & learning. They didn’t just go from med school into teaching; they didn’t stop practicing when they became teachers. My dad is a MD. One of his...

WotC Would you buy WotC products produced or enhanced with AI?

While true, it doesn’t take much imagination to imagine that creators of poetry, prose, music or any visual art form might have been able to achieve more in their favored mediums had they been able to make a living from doing so. For example, more time painting means more refinement of the...

Wizards of the Coast Says That China Tariffs Will Have Minimal Impact on D&D

Mod Note: Thank you for self editing. However, given the subject matter, we’re ALL going to have to try VERY hard to avoid getting political in this thread.

Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

It’s kind of the same as not talking about exes when dating someone new- especially in the early stages. Some people find that a HUGE turn-off.

How Much Do You Care About Novelty?

Tangential of that, in a supers game set in 1900 when I unleashed an Iron Man style villain with the suit that had a steam engine powering its hydraulics and a pair of arm-mounted flame throwers, the players’ eyes absolutely bugged out in amazement.

    The Good Sandbox Thread [+]

Best campaign I ever ran was essentially a sandbox. It was a supers game using HERO, but the campaign setting (embellished & enhanced) from Space:1889. While I did have certain adventures in mind and plotted out to create the overall plotline, for the most part, the players set the pace and...

    Good Television Mystery Series

Columbo is a classic, and it has a spiritual successor in Elspeth. I don’t think the latter is as good- the pacing is a bit rushed- but it’s still a decent show. I’ve also enjoyed: Monk Psych Father Brown Midsomer Murders Unforgotten New Tricks The Bletchley Circle

D&D General To multiclass or not to multiclass

I’m a thematic multiclasser; probably all the way back to AD&D. And almost anyone who has called me a powergamer gets laughed at by anyone who has gamed with me multiple times.
