Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

I'm not asking for your advice.
It wasn't intended to be advice for you in particular; I meant it more as general advice for the others reading this thread, or for anyone getting bummed out by what fans are saying on the Internet. (I'm also one of those fans I was talking about, so...)

Been catching up on them since their fall/winter break. It’s finding its feet.
Another good one is Unwell, by Hartlife NFP. If you like the dialogue and banter of The Magnus Archives, you might like it.

And of course Welcome to Nightvale is a permanent fixture in our house.

I think it can be useful to compare a game to the market leader (D&D in this case), as long as you're not doing it in the form of value judgment. If I'm considering another game, it is useful information to know how it differs from other games.

Once again someone does a fantastic job of pushing me farther away from ever trying out a new game because they want to prove its superiority over other games rather talk about how fun it is.

Ugh, I know right? Getting people to talk about their new TTRPG without also dunking on someone else's game is next to impossible. It always seems to go like this for me:

Me: "Hey your new game looks cool! Tell me all about it!"

Them: "Okay so you know how D&D is terrible and everybody hates it?"

Me: "What? No. I'm asking you about your new game. What can you tell me about it?"

Them: "Well, in D&D you can't do This or That, and you just have to cope with This Other Thing. And also--"

Me: "I already know about D&D. Tell me about YOUR game."

Them: "Okay, okay. So in D&D, there is a problem with--"

Me, walking away: "Never mind."
It’s kind of the same as not talking about exes when dating someone new- especially in the early stages. Some people find that a HUGE turn-off.

Unfortunately, some people will consider any comparison a value judgment.
