Pathfinder 2E Release Day Second Edition Amazon Sales Rank

My observation is that Paizo shares news when it's good and is silent when it's not. They have not been silent regarding PF2, so while it may not be as stellar with sales and popularity as PF1 was at it's beginning, PF2 is likely doing just fine.

Roll20's Latest Report Shows Growth Everywhere!

What wore you out? (I haven't played much 5E, but while I've heard that people lament the lack of options (compared to 3.x, 4E, and PF1), I haven't heard anyone worn out by it.) What caused you to lose enthusiasm?

Roll20's Latest Report Shows Growth Everywhere!

No agenda - observation. 2E was bleeding players (or really, had bled players) thus 3E was a welcome refreshing of D&D and players came back. 3.5 was quite popular, but per Ryan Dancey, 4E was made in part due to financial ultimatums at WotC/Hasbro. 4E was also designed to encourage more...

Roll20's Latest Report Shows Growth Everywhere!

D&D 3, PF1, and D&D5 came about because the players demanded these games. 4E and PF2 came out because the companies that made them demanded better financials (IMO).

Amazing to me that 3.5 is still very much in the picture. Really shows how much a mistake 4E was.

    D&D General Alignment in D&D

Great read. I hated 4E, but the one thing that I like which came from it was the concept of "unaligned" in D&D. I think if I were designing the next edition, PCs could be "unaligned" if they wanted to, but to stay true to the game's history of alignment (which I like), I would either let...

    Pathfinder 2E TRAILseeker Winding Down

I'm curious what you base this on. The only metric I've seen is sales rank at amazon, which seems to be declining, but I'd love more data points.

    Pathfinder 2E TRAILseeker Winding Down

I guess PF2 didn't create the new edition "spike" that happened for a lot of 3PPs when PF1 came out. I know there are a handful of companies creating PF2 PDFs, but has any 3PP created any physical PF2 products yet?

Pathfinder 2E What do you steal from PF2 for your PF1 games?

I'm not bringing anything from PF2 into my PF1 game.

Monte Cook Games’ Next Kickstarter Is Ptolus (for 5E and Cypher)

The Ptolus product set the standard for me on useful settings. Not only does it tell you all of the cool places adventurers can visit - it details a lot of them (like mini-modules) so the GM doesn't have to do it themselves! I really wish more setting books would have done this, but sadly...

ICv2's Latest Quarterly Chart: D&D Top, But PF2 Is Strong

Yeah, it's weird that Starfinder went from #2 to off the list in 1 quarter.

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

Are you sure about that? Most of their PF titles are also their S&W and 5E titles so this seems rather unlikely.

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

Well, they are still producing new PF1 material so I don't think this is the case.

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

That may end up being an interesting (albeit, perhaps unintentional) commentary on PF2's success (or lack thereof). My shelves are full of PF1 material from Frog God Games, but they are not doing PF2. (Of course, I'm not doing PF2 either, so I can relate.)

Pathfinder 2E What's the deal with 3rd party PF2E Adventure "support"??

There's a handful of companies doing a few things, but not many. As the game is still pretty new, I'm sure some publishers are learning the rules, while, as has been said, some publishers are simply giving it a pass. 5E is still so popular (even after 5 years), that it likely pays to design...

Pathfinder 2E Playtest Four New Pathfinder 2E Classes

I'm one of those not playing PF2. I'm still playing PF1 (happily) and the play-test looked terrible to me. As indicated above, the presentation looked too much like 4E (even if it doesn't play that way). Big turn-off for me. (Plus, I really like PF1, so no need for me to switch since I have...

    How Expensive is Too Expensive?

I do like the fact that MCG takes big swings at products. Ptolus was fantastic, IMO. Invisible Sun is one of those swings. I wish more publishers took chances like these (and with crowdfunding like Kickstarter, they even have a safety net).
