    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

Sudden Strike (extra damage when the target is flatfooted) works too and comes with less baggage IMO.

    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

I don't think it is, because sneak attack is very dependent on setting up flanking and or catching someone off guard. Besides it doesn't fit the archetype much at all. For an actual swashbuckler, I maintain that using either a highly modified scout (skirmish == mobile fighter == swashbuckler...

    Favorite WotC minis?

Hmmm, my favorites :) Chuul, Large Water Elemental, Balor, Pit Fiend, Hezrou, Blood of Vol Cultist (that's just a damn cool looking mook mini!), Iron Golem, Lord of Blades, Sahuagin Ranger, and Horned Devil.

    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

Yeah, I've had that thought too. Some stuff strikes me as just being change for change sakes.

    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

Hm, I still think there might be a better way to do it. As it is, there's very few ways to deal sneak attack damage in a fight that way aside from flanking or outright surprising the opponent. Sure, you can Bluff, but doing it effectively requires some feat investment. Yeah, but that's the...

    Fiendish Codex III: Yugoloths poll

Not being a big proponent of the CR 58 (dicefreaks) style archfiends, I would've been happy if these 'unique dukes' had been merely at a pit fiend's level or above. I'm not talking uber-high CR's here, but in the 20-24 range. Definitely still usable and logical within the D&D framework. Hell...

    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

Heh. I gotta admit I like the ritual warrior almost because, to me, it feels like a sort of predecessor to the Bo9S classes, which is a concept I like even if no one has really done it 'right' yet (Bo9S being, debatedly, a little overpowerpowered and the ritual warrior being kinda boring, though...

WotC previews for January: Better Late Than Never!

Magic item sets... either kinda neat or really stupid. I'm leaning towards the latter :\ Hopefully they pull it off without making it... lame.

WotC previews for January: Better Late Than Never!

A shield guardian mini finally! One of the few constructs in the MM3.x that I don't outright hate. :)

    PHB2 vs. Arcana Evolved

Heh, I find it funny how some folks hold up the Oathsworn as 'a more flexible monk alternative' when it is, in fact, just as inflexible and nichey as the monk. :) AE has the runethane, ritual warrior, mageblade, and totem warrior. Those alone beat the living tar out of the PHBII classes, which...

    Fiendish Codex III: Yugoloths poll

Overrated, yes. Bad, no. Let me count the ways... - The Thaumaturge - Waste of space. Really, some people complain about classes with utterly narrow focuses and I think this class fits that to a T. The real problem that I have with this class is it fills a niche that can already be filled...

    Celestial Codex Series?

    Fiendish Codex III: Yugoloths poll

Overrated as in the entire Book of Fiends. The daemons are not my style, but I don't hold that against the book.

2006 WotC D&D Product Survivor - Player's Handbook II is the sole survivor!

I went with PHB2 because, in the end, it didn't look like it had been bitch-slapped during the editing process like FC2 was. Plus, I use it pretty much every game :)

I voted 'no.' Celestials, in general, bore me, unless something really cool is done with them. And I don't see that happening...

    Anyone seen Dragon 352 yet?

Fraid so. Erm, no DR or miss-chance. I think a few of their abilities might have been 'missed' or purposefully left out. For example, in PSS they 'see' by detecting other creature's thought waves or some such. The descriptive text mentions them as 'eyeless' yet they have no...

    Anyone seen Dragon 352 yet?

Got my issue two days ago and I've been pouring over it since. Thoughts: * Yes, alot of this issue is Bas-Lag stuff, but, IMO, it's sufficiently generic enough that you could use bits and pieces however you want. You could take New Crobuzon and slap it down into your world if you saw fit along...

    The Burning Crusade

Suramar (the server I play on) was up and down all day yesterday. When it wasn't, the draenei starting area and Outlands were super laggy, but that was mostly due to the amount of people in said areas. I got to play a bit this morning and it was much smoother. Although I still got a defective...
