    D&D 3.x 3.5 ShielMaster/Crusader worth for tanking?

There isn't really a Kiting tactic in D&D. This is strictly a video game thing. If you tried to "Kite" one of a couple things would happen. 1. you could provoke attacks of opportunity from this foe. 2. This foe could lose interest in you and move on to attack someone else and then you...

    Is Rogue a problematic class?

Well the monk is kinda a jack of all trades type thing. It does a little of this and a little of that and gets a little of this and a little of that. So maybe replace the word "balanced" with something else like "support role". That's how the rogue is as well. Its a "support role" While...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 ShielMaster/Crusader worth for tanking?

I wouldn't take 5 levels of something just for a shield bash manuever and to not take a little damage when the main part of your build has abilities that want you to take damage. If you want to play a tank type then take the damage. Plus with Crusader it helps with Furious Counterstrike. And...

    Dragonborn Dexterity Penalty

Think of it as a racial thing. You're just not as dexterous as something with no penalty. If you'd like an analogy here's one.. STR. You can lift weights all you want but genetics says you will only bench press so much. It just can't be overcome. Same thing here with Dex. Probably...

    Feats for one handed fighting

Oh it looks cool. I'm becoming a fast lover of AoO builds. I've just never seen 18 feats in 15 levels on a non gestalt progression is all. It humbled me and made me smile all in one. :)

    Feats for one handed fighting

All I can say is WOW on the amount of feats

Try it in your game? Remove caster level.

Awesome!!! I'll Play a Fighter (or a TAnk Crusader since I just built one...lol)! Bring the pain! But yeah..i've yet to see even in our Gestalt campaign our Half titan 8 (Bastards and Bloodlines supplement..not WotC)/Monster of Legend 7/Fighter4 Wizard 19 with access to every spell in the...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 ShielMaster/Crusader worth for tanking?

Dandu My Fire Giant is actually thinking about building a vacation home there for the winter months...lol I'm still trying to figure out why you want the shieldmaster PrC? Also in my reading of the Crusader's Handbook in order to really maximize the Crusader class and gain access to...

    D&D 3.x 3.5 ShielMaster/Crusader worth for tanking?

Well you kinda need high HP if you want to be the PC that gets attacked all the time by every monster otherwise you're going to be a dead PC

    Amusing House Rules

Typically our house rule for rolling stats is 4d6 drop the low and reroll 1s. One of players who hosts a campaign from time to time alterted it slightly and made this condition as well. If you roll four 1s for any stat even through rerolls its an automatic 18 in that stat. We were kinda...

What would happen in your game?

The three of them sit down and order drinks. The paladin and wizard drink much faster than the rogue and are soon drunk. The rogue then escorts his "friends" upto their rooms, where he relieves them of their purses. The next morning when the paladin and wizard realize they're broke he...

Site seems laggy at times/ giving xp

This could be a problem on my end but it usually doesn't happen with other sites. Any ideas? I"m happy to provide any info you need. I'm not real tech savvy so if its complicated I'm going to need some intructions on how to get the info but basic stuff like PC specs I can handle. Also its...

A Tournament of Cosmic Propotions! (Immortal's Handbook Rules)

Unless you progress standard D&D Deities out none of them would probably survive as most are under CR40. But throw I'd throw in Asmodeus and progress him out another 100+ levels or whatever it took to be of Equal CR to you. I'm guessing that would be a long fight...lol

    Is Rogue a problematic class?

cattoy makes some very good points. I"m usually a fan of the core classes (cleric, wizard, rogue, fighter) but I find rogue seems always better multiclassed with something else where the other three all do what they are supposed to quite well with a standard 20 levels.

Reach Weapons: Increased size, increase reach?

This reminds me of the scene in the Movie Count of Monte Cristo where the Count washes up on shore with the smugglers and Luigi tells him that Jacopo is the best knife fighter he's ever seen. The Counts response "you should get out more" and then easily defeats Jacopo. Well it seems my...

Reach Weapons: Increased size, increase reach?

That's kind of what I was thinking. Gotta love when there's a lack of rules to cover what seems to be an easy question. Did they maybe address this problem in 4e somehow? or pathfinder?

    Is Rogue a problematic class?

It is hard to build a good rogue. It takes a lot of carefully chosen feats and magic items to make them really effective in combat and even then its almost better to multiclass into scout and do a ranged sneak attack. As for traps and locked doors a fighter with a good climb check and a...

Reach Weapons: Increased size, increase reach?

So basically one could use the 3.0 rules for it or let the DM decide on a case by case basis? Am I understanding this correctly?

Reach Weapons: Increased size, increase reach?

This question just came up in another forum as I was making a Crusader "tank" build using a Kasuri-Gama for a weapon for it. The one handed weapon (medium sized) has a 10 foot reach. If I increase the weapon to large size does the reach increase as well? What about Huge? What about other...
