D&D 5E (2014) Does your group use inspiration? If not, why not?

Yes, we use it but our DM often forgets about giving it out. Some YouTuber (maybe Zipperon Disney or Professor DM?) had a video saying they have a system where players reward the inspiration which I liked. I also think it should be used as a chance to re-roll a die roll since 90% of the time...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dungeon room description

Some famous writer said that if you describe a rifle on the wall then that rifle better go off in the third act. That's all I got.

D&D 5E (2014) How should be the future Oriental Adventures.

It's not bias to fail to link to something you've never seen before. And I'll happily confirm that I do not consider polls of this small sample size to be very scientific. And seeing that they skewed the demographics of the poll so heavily and the authors admit they have an agenda, I really...

D&D 5E (2014) How should be the future Oriental Adventures.

I already dealt with that here. That "scientific data" was just another poll. It was heavily skewed towards women and LBGTQ. They found less than 50% of the Native population was offended. From your link, "I think there’s a way in which we can reach out to fans to help them to understand...

WotC Dungeons & Dragons Fans Seek Removal of Oriental Adventures From Online Marketplace

There is so much I find offensive in your post, but this "white fragility" takes the cake. Say that about any other group and you'd be moderated. And just because people disagree with your opinion about what is acceptable in our hobby doesn't make them trolls.

WotBS Implementing Character Backstory into the Campaign

Why don't you ask the players what they want to see? They may not even be that invested in their background and may want their story moving forward in a different direction, not being pulled backward towards their past. I've never had any DM use character backstory for anything in depth for...

WotC Dungeons & Dragons Fans Seek Removal of Oriental Adventures From Online Marketplace

As an Asian, I stand with Margaret Cho: "I think what it is is that white people like to tell Asians how to feel." From an editorial in the Chicago Tribune by J. Tsuchiyama: "As an Oriental, I am bemused. Apparently Asians are supposed to feel demeaned if someone refers to us as Orientals...

D&D 5E (2014) How should be the future Oriental Adventures.

Okay, you got me to Google around and I found the 'more scientific' study you found. Their polling data was heavily skewed toward women and LGBTQ (69% of those polled so it is not representative of the population) which they stated had a stronger bias against the mascots than men. Still, only...

D&D 5E (2014) How should be the future Oriental Adventures.

I'm also of Japanese descent. My mother was a first generation post-war immigrant and she used the term Oriental exclusively for the region. I don't think I ever heard her use the term "Asian" ever. "Eastern Adventures" would be a good compromise for me since Kara-Tur is to the east of Faerun...

D&D General Putting the Dead to Rest?

Our group had that in Descent into Avernus but it might have been a homebrew encounter. Then there is one in Curse of Strahd.

D&D General Two underlying truths: D&D heritage and inclusivity

If you want to now include civilian deaths then nobody can beat the 90 to 140 million or so victims of communism. Even if you exclude the 20th century then your argument is invalid unless you can cite some numbers.

D&D General Two underlying truths: D&D heritage and inclusivity

That is not true. From the Huffpo in 2012: In their recently published book, “Encyclopedia of Wars,” authors Charles Phillips and Alan Axelrod document the history of recorded warfare, and from their list of 1763 wars only 123 have been classified to involve a religious cause, accounting for...

D&D 5E (2014) If not the word "race", what word instead?

You are missing the purpose of Newspeak. Reported to Minitrue for doubleplusungood. Also, equating race to biology is a thoughtcrime. Everyone knows race is a social construct. Right, bb?

    D&D 5E (2014) Access to a 3D printer? Every monster for free

There is at least one "maker lab" in my town where you can get a membership and use their 3d printers. I've also heard some public libraries have 3d printers. It may be worth looking into.

How much does it cost to print a mini with a 3D printer?

I think Pogre on this forum does 3d printing. He might be able to give you a real cost estimate.
