My 3rd-level warmage needs some learnin'. Care to help?

Oh, I know all about the revision, Glyfair. I originally designed Tazham with the MHB, but was told I'd have to go by the CA version since it was printed more recently. It's been a shame, sometimes--I've been in a few situations where sleep would've come in really handy. Thanks, though.

My 3rd-level warmage needs some learnin'. Care to help?

Chrono clicks on the bookmark to his spell thread, expecting just a couple of responses... Nice! Thanks a lot, guys! More options than I thought... I'm digging the concepts behind light of Lunia, unhand, and forcewave... I'm not sure if our DM's into third-party material, so I'll check...

My 3rd-level warmage needs some learnin'. Care to help?

Hi, all. Tazham, a young firerunner (read: barbarian/warmage) needs a new 0th or 1st level evocation spell gleaned through 3rd-level "advanced learning". A wizardy one that's not already on the warmage spell list, that is. I can't find anything in the official sources I own...

What knowledge skills do you never use?

It depends on the game. If you're doing a gritty, wilderness survival thing, Knowledge (nobility and royalty) might not be of much use (until you meet Tarzan). Etc. :) When I DMed (before 3.5), I'd make sure that a PC's ranks in a Knowledge skill meant something. I'd give them little bits...

How much Jack could a Jack Chick Chick if a Jack Chick could Chick Jack? (Help!)

You can always direct them here, though it may be the wrong angle ;): http://religiousmovements.lib.virginia.edu/nrms/satanism/intro.html Excerpt: Yet in the 80s, when these methods were widely accepted, panics about satanic cults flourished. This may have been enhanced by the rise of...

    Crazy Loop of Weirdality.

Man, I'd love to see the Story Hour to this, with "behind the scenes" footnotes. :)

    Crazy Loop of Weirdality.

Sounds fun. :) In order to prevent the devolution Thorntangle's warning about, maybe you could give both sides a common enemy. Another faction interested in the artifact, perhaps.

Codex Anathema changed to... Lords of Madness?

Well, I emailed in my opinion. I hope it contributes to a leap back. :)

How many Dragon Magazine articles do you normally read each month on average?

I used to read them cover to cover. Then I lost interest, after the format change. I'm not renewing my subscription--I might give Dungeon a shot, though. Been hearin' good tings.

A shame. I liked Codex Anathema better.

[Los Angeles, CA] New in town, looking to play!

Hello. :) I recently moved to Los Angeles from Boston and am looking for a steady D&D game. I'd like to be a player and maybe, eventually, run a campaign. I'm living in the Westwood area (UCLA) without a car, and rely on bussage to get me to the fun. Ideally, I'd like a game in my...

How do YOU reintroduce villains you bring back?

One great way is to have a toady yesman who escaped the slaughter go to great pains to have him raised. Maybe life after BBEG's death just wasn't the same for the right hand man, or maybe he thinks he'll get showered in riches... Family members will raise villains, curious bards who want...

D&D satanic; here we go again.

Inspiring (I hope) lines: "It's like a book club where you're writing the book." "It's like a video game without the TV." "Monopoly's a roleplaying game, too. Only instead of CEOs, we're knights." "Trust me, we're just sitting around a table acting like complete dorks." Laugh. Smile...

    Cover Rules Distilled

The actual rules you see in the Miniature's Handbook are for the D&D Miniatures game, which is a "dumbed down" version of D&D combat. If you're playing the roleplaying game, use the rules in the Player's Handbook, not the Mini's. :) The monsters, classes, feats, and spells in the first...
