    concerned about crafting.

Nice call :) I once played in a game where this happened regularly (getting snowed in that is, not spring not happing!) - our characters would just eat, drink, get some stuff down and spend our money for a few months, before the snow melted and the PCs would pick up on where they'd left off...

    Reward questions

It's a DM call really. The RAW assumes that the team is pulling together, so hence everyone gains xp, but if a PC is just turning up and doing nothing then I'd wait to see what the other players did and would even encourage some in game conversation on the matter, where it might be more easily...

    concerned about crafting.

I wouldn't worry about it too much, as long as the other players are happy with it and it fits in with your game. Some campaigns often have extended breaks like this. You don't need to roleplay them, just take a session out to do the book-keeping, see what everyone wants to buy/sell/craft/etc...

Free RPG Day - Traveller Book 0

I grabbed a copy. I've always thought of giving Traveller a go, so this seems like a very good way of going about that :) I've never played before, so how long do you think (in terms of actual gaming hours) it would take (for an inexperienced group) to run this?

Drivethrurpg.com freakin' slow and Rpgnow.com down?

Both are running fine for me right now.

    Pathfinder 1E Paizo's Pathfinder Forums

I check out the paizo forums often enough, but like others have said I'm not a fan of the layout. If they implemented a more standard format (ie phpbb or vbulletin or somesuch), then I think they'd be a lot more popular. Having said that, the paizo site has been slow for as long as I can...

    Good 3e boards?

Feel free to come over to my forums for 3ed chat. It's been a bit quiet over there for a while, so I'm happy for folks to hijak it and move it forward as they like. I'd also be happy to host reviews, conversions, etc. Anyway, just a thought.

    High Level Cohort

We have a player in our group who has a blinkdog cohort, with levels in fighter and rogue. Very difficult to hit, gets to use its sneak attack, and is very nimble. Of course, we're only at around 10th level, so I've no idea how it would work out at higher levels. Much fun, though.

    Mike Mearls On the OGL

I think the true success or failure of the OGL will be how it stands up now that it is no longer officially supported by WotC (or, if you prefer, now WotC have washed their hands of it). There have already been a raft of excellent stand alone products produced using the OGL and with Pathfinder...

Question about GSL - Scott please comment

My guess would be that they will not answer any questions on The GSL. Period. As has already been mentioned, there are legal implications attached to any answers they give, and I would imagine they would not answer legal questions under any circumstances, leaving that to the legal department...

    my group needs suggestions.

Depends on what you're planning to run and at what level. At low levels, fighters are a good way for getting inexperienced players into the game, and an arcane spellcaster of some kind is normally required. Warlocks are pretty cool and can be fun to play too. Rogues can find certain types of...

    4e D&D GSL Live

As soon as I heard that there would be no backward compatibilty with the OGL I decided that The Kyngdoms wouldn't be shifting to 4ed and neither would I. That coupled with the termination clause has confirmed my worst fears. Of course, what I do is neither here or there to anyone else, but...

    3.5 or what?

For those who are interested in remaining with 3ed, feel free to come over to our forums and help create a place where like-minded people can chat about 3ed D&D. It's a bit slow over there right now, so I see no reason why it couldn't be used to create a community of our own. The Kyngdoms will...

A new 4e poll please be honest

There's another option missing: I own the books and have played it, but I'll be sticking with 3.5 - which is where I'm presently at. 4ed is ok, but did not rock my socks. I'll play it again, probably at convensions, but will otherwise continue with my 3.5 campaign, which is likely to take...

Could one of the moderators kindly change my name from Red Moon Games to The Kyngdoms, please :) Many thanks!

    Awarding Experience - question

Here's the relevant section from the DMG (p 37): and... This is, of course, a bit vague. Obviously, we can say that the moody swashbuckler who was upset at being insulted by the gruff dwarf and decided to sit out the combat in a sulk does not get any xp. But what about the wizard who steps...

If you're switching to 4ed, what are you switching from?

Some good points made above about the use of the term 'switching'. So, to add, if you're intending to play 4ed but not actually giving up the games you're currently playing, just tick the option for the game(s) you're playing and add a post to explain that. If you're taking up 4ed and are not...

If you're switching to 4ed, what are you switching from?

I'm just curious to see what folks who intend to switch to 4ed are currently playing. Since I can't include every game, I've just given the main d&d options. If you play another game and are switching, please just choose one of the 'other' options and let us know what you're switching from...

    Masterwork or magic *rocks*?

Sounds like fun :) I don't see the difference between what you're proposing and enhancing sling stones - except size, of course! You'll need to get the stone specially crafted for masterwork quality (which, as both a large and an usual weapon, I'd probably charge more for if I were the DM)...
