SHs set in oriental settings aren't normally my cup of tea, the writing quality for this one caught me and wouldn't let go... Great writing, Emperor Valerian. I look forward to more (especially of Nayu blasting every foe in sight). :)

If anyone cares, I also think it would be useful. Frequently-bumped SHs would be in a less-crowded forum where bumping would become unnecessary (or at least less frequent), and up-and-coming SHs might well attract more readers. And if this archive forum doesn't work for some reason, we go back...

So, what seems to have been the strongest BBEG dies without doing a single point of damage. Guess it goes to show the importance of initiative, as Lazybones mentions - and the importance of having meat shields to delay PCs.

That's not setting the bar high... I'll compare the battles of Kingdom of Heaven to those of LotR - like you, I feel the battles in those movies set the benchmark.

Yay, finals are done, I can read story hours again... I really enjoyed all the recent battles. But I think Arun let Benzan off too lightly concerning Wiejeron.

Now that I'm done with finals, I'm finally free to indulge myself... I'm still reading and still enjoying. I think story hours with epic-level characters are my favorite. I'm very much looking forward to that... very special event that was mentioned on another thread.:)
