    Energy Substitution Acid Description

Cool description, but keep in mind that Lightning Bolt does not richochet off walls in 3rd edition (or is it just that it comes straight back now instead of bouncing at an angle)?

    Warforged Necromancer (Finished!)

Great work! I DM'd this Eberron game for Gospog, and Carrion is an awesome character, it's cool to see him fully rendered. The new mini looks like its coming along great too, though I also liked the old version.

Info from the WotC 2007 January to April Catalog

Regarding all this talk about Heroes of Intrigue...was this something that was actually announced at one point, or just something that people are anticipating becuase they would like to see? Back to the topic at hand, I am not spending much money on books these days anyway, but I will say that...

How many dice do you put out?

I usually put out three sets+ for myself (two behind the screen and one near the players), plus at least one set plus+ per layer, except for one or two players that bring their own.

Do You Sometimes Purchase RPG Books Just To Read (Not For Play Purposes)?

I buy most books with the idea that I will enjoy reading them regardless, but that it's a bonus if there is something in there that finds its way to the table. Still, I'd say at least 80% of the RPG stuff that I buy never sees the light of day in my game.

Art Comparison from Tome of Magic

Goetic, eh? Sounds like a candidate for the "words you learned from D&D" thread. What's it mean?

How would you like to see a PDF version of Dragon/Dungeon

I voted "I would prefer a print only subscription, but they should offer PDFs to those that want them", however what I really mean is I think it would be great if the did offer PDFs to those that wanted it, but not that they should in an sense that it's a foul if they don't.

    Words you learned through D&D

I learned tons of words from D&D, but the two that sprang to mind most readily were portcullis and crenellations. The word portcullis by itself became an ongoing joke in my junior high/high school years because of something that happened involving one in an old campaign. Alas, the details...

Art Comparison from Tome of Magic

The link works fine for me. The picture shown is extremely similar, pretty much the same exact creature done as a b&w pencil sketch. Interesting indeed.

Is it time for a low-magic setting?

I have only had time to skim this thread, but wanted to chime in. BD, I can see where you are coming from wanting an actual D&D campaign on the low magic side. I think that Birthright filled this niche admirably in the days of 2e. However, with 3e/3.5 being so heavily engineered with...

PHB 2 Afflitations - are you using them?

I only finished this chapter this morning, so I certainly have not used them in my game yet. I probably won't use them as written. I like the affiliations as organizations, and might use one or two of them, with some tweaking. However, the specific rules about how to use them seem like a...

Age of Worms - Greyhawk or FR better?

Eric's conversion is good (if a bit overly complex), and AoW can definately work in either world, but in my opinion it really is best used in Greyhawk. There's enough GH ties that unless you have a strong reason to prefer FR (such as players who would only go for a FR campaign), I can't see the...

Liv.Greyhawk: Sharks and Sahuagin in NYR DYV!!??!?!??

Nope, I don't see any problem with this at all.

The Trend from Prestige to Base

A lot of my thoughts have already been summed up pretty well by delericho, Psion, and others, but there's one thing I wanted to expand on. Several folks have stipulated that they think base classes should be fairly broad in concept. Likewise, to me at least, the name should be something pretty...

    Xmas Gaming Swag!

Dwarven Forge Cavernous Passages Set was the big one, but also Spell Compendium, Five Nations, and Libris Mortis.

How did Psionics change your game?

The psion (telepath) in my game is pretty much on the level with the other PCs. Some adventures he kicks major ass (mind thrust being a big reason for this), but other times (such as the current adventures, in which the opponents are mostly fighting undead), he takes more of a backseat role. I...

    Expectations/gamer courtesy

I agree that bringing food or drinks is a nice courtesy, and I usually do so when I game at other people's places. Often times they've already offered to provide food as part of the hosting package, but even so I try to bring some soda usually. Occassionally, if I'm running late, I might fail...

Perhaps you're thinking of http://www.direkobold.com/? I haven't used them, so I can't speak to the quality.

What flavor are sorcerers in your campaign?

Like Matt Colville and Akrasia, I don't think that sorcerors should have been made a core class, they just don't have a different enough niche to justify their inclusion. So, in my game, they have no flavor because they're not around. I haven't expressely forbidden them, but no one expressed...
