Haven't read the whole thread, but to answer the OP: I doubt WotC would want Pathfinder called D&D (if they had any say).

I can't do it...but someone, somewhere, PLEASE, give the man xp for not just summing up the thread, but summing up the absurdity of the thread!

In areas of required motion (i.e. the wrists which can dictate a hit or a miss) it is both advisable to protect this asset, and advisable not to impinge this asset, hence.... the best flexible protection afforded for the time.
