Sell me on Wizards books published since Complete Divine

It's not loyalty. If I got from other stuff what I get from WotC books, I'd buy them instead. Dungeon and Dragon are a bummer (esp. Dungeon) - Erik had made them pretty damn awesome! But I wasn't buying them anyway and online might mean more affordable for people like me outside of the US. But...

Sell me on Wizards books published since Complete Divine

Nah. I've bought lots of non-Wizards stuff in my time, but to be honest I like most of the WotC books and find the basic design values fit well into my game. Most non-core stuff is more difficult to dump in and I'm time-poor in the most serious way.

Sell me on Wizards books published since Complete Divine

Lot's of people are saying PHBII and to be honest I've barely even considered that as an option but know very little about it. Why should I be looking at it?

    Good, recent Fantasy books

I read the first one and pretty much hated it... so, nah. Yeah, I don't like kids books or kids writing. I didn't like the Amber Spyglass stuff much either although I enjoyed those more than the HP books. No modern fantasy or kids books for me! Well, actually some modern fantasy I don't mind...

Sell me on Wizards books published since Complete Divine

I've been off finishing my MA, having a kid and playing some d20 Modern and WFRP. I'm back playing some D&D and was wondering what's come out in the last little while. I'm pretty sure the last book I bought was Complete Divine. What's essential I should have picked up in the last couple of years?

    Good, recent Fantasy books

Thanks for the suggestions guys. Reactions below... I haven't read either of these and Erikson is so prevelent that I should really read something of his sometime. To be honest most modern fantasy leaves me a bit cold... I read half of something of Brust's one time and it didn't grab me at...

    Good, recent Fantasy books

I'm completely out of the loop fantasy-wise and the recent award short lists are pretty sci-fi orientated. Is there anything good that's come out in the last few years which I should check out?

Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

That's a good point and I hadn't noticed that. Thanks.

Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

I'm not sure any more but I think we always said it meant you couldn't move unless you made your save... Was is differently written in 3e?

Entangle - it's tied to the condition right?

I used to have a cleric with access to the nature domain in the party in the old game I ran but the player was a bit odd and didn't really engage with game at all (plus could only cast entangle once a day so it wasn't too much of an issue). That said the spell Entangle always seemed a but...

    Wuxia novels?

http://wuxiapedia.com/ This has some translations. Wuxia was a novel-based genre for many many years before it was a film-based genre.

What's the best NPC generating software outthere?

I'm a busy person with limited time and I have no desire to be sitting around in the evenings stating up NPCs by hand if I can possibly avoid it. What's good that could help me with that?

What does ETools cover these days?

IS it 3.5 compatible? How up to date are they with the books?

    Chinese inspried monsters

Hey all, I've decided to have a D&D campaign start in a mythical China and while I'm comfortable with some plot ideas and human enemies and the like I'm struggling a little for non-human adversaries. I've got the OA book but most of the monsters are Japanese inspired. Any good lists? Wikipedia...

If you're dominated, does that count as 'willing' for teleport?

SO I'm guessing charm person would work too?

If you're dominated, does that count as 'willing' for teleport?

Just what the title says: if someone dominates a PC can they be teleported as a 'willing creature'?

    Help me build my McGuffin

This is true and I was thinking about that even as I posted... but "Help me build my campaign focusing magic item" isn't as snappy...

Thank might be what ends up happening... :heh: Damn babies take up all your DM planning time!

    Help me build my McGuffin

Those are pretty cool ideas. Part of what I was thinking was that it would scale. So the first three parts are pretty minor, but get more powerful when you join them together. Same for the next two sections. Then the whole thing together is hugely powerful. That way I can give them the first...

    Help me build my McGuffin

So I'm working on a campaign, starting next week. It's my first D&D game in a while and I'm a little out of touch. So, my players stay out. Thanks. One PC will be teleported far to the east by an Evil Wizard and have a geas cast upon him to find the Eight Fold Staff. He will meet other...
