    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

That's his point. Barbarian's reckless attack giving a penalty. Fall prone every turn just to protect from ranged attacks, and does not give extra penalty from melee.

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

I did some calculations. Twice allows for Bladesingers and Moon druids to get their 2 attacks, but not Eldritch Blast spamming. It's short range, concentration, takes an action, single target, with nothing on a miss. You need 3 actions (including castings) for it to surpass Finger of Death...

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

It was both. Dragonborn got +1 when Bloodied Tieflings got +1 against Bloodied Shifters had... something activate when Bloodied (May have been a feats) And there was several magic item that gave bonus when Bloodied. I played a Avenger of the Raven Queen who took all the bonus when Bloodied...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

I think tightly packing 1000 enemies in range of an area of attack is the part that's far from universal. Not just D&D, or TTRPG, but any game at all. Or real life for that matter.

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

Yes. There where already a few in 2014, but they just spelled it out as "half you maximum hit points". I.e. 2014 life cleric.. This feature can restore a creature to no more than half of its hit point maximum. Vs 2024 life cleric Choose Bloodied creatures within 30 feet Yes. Though it's...

    D&D 5E (2024) D&D 5e 2024 Monk Handbook

I don't see many good high level ranger abilities. Their best spells are level 2, which is ranger 5 (plus multiattack). Plant Growth and revivify as are good at 3rd, but all the damage spells get out scaled by being half caster. 6: Roving is nice. But rogue 2 is nicer. 7: depends on the...

D&D 5E (2024) Avenger of The Silver Flame build

2014 Stun spamming works well, especially at higher levels when you have Ki to fuel it. I just don't think it's fun.

D&D General Read aloud text in modules: What are folks opinions about read aloud content?

It's good for new DMs. It gives them some hand holding while they develop their own style. Preventing them for being at a loss for words or direction. But like any crutch, it should be dropped after a while so they can stand on their own. Also, the longer a campaign. The less likely the read...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

2014 ranger hunter had Volley. You can use your action to make a ranged attack against any number of creatures within 10 feet of a point you can see within your weapon’s range. You must have ammunition for each target, as normal, and you make a separate attack roll for each target. Which could...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

Yes. So does Command Also, (greater) invisibility. If enemies don't know where you are they could walk right by.

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

There are 268. 5' cubes in a 20' Sphere 4 pixies in each cube = 1,072 targets 28 damage = 30,016 damage 75% (save for half) = 22,512 damage Very good guess. And just to fill things out. 1813 pixies in a cone of cold. 8192 pixies in a Meteor swarm. Seems far less likely than rolling an extra...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

Not sure if you want to count summons or Simulacrum, but your not concentrating on anything. Wild surge (extra action), for another 4 Eldritch Blasts. Or Wild surge can technically get you concentration free summons, but it's pretty random. Also, glyph of warding (+infinite money) can make...

    D&D 5E (2024) 13 Attacks a Round the Most You Can Get?

There was the 2014 ranger ability to attack each creature in an area. And then you unrealistically pack the area with pixies. But that's gone. They can still damage a thousands small creatures, but it's now a saving throw. Same as cone of cold in any edition.

    D&D 5E (2024) What are your 2024 houserules?

Mine Two weapon fighting takes 2 hands. I'm sure that was the intention of the rules. Spirit Guardians and similar doesn't trigger when moving the Cleric around outside their turn. Conjure Minor Elemental damage is limited to twice per turn. Hidden breaks if you don't have cover at the end...

D&D 5E (2014) What is the Deal with the Twilight Cleric?

It's easy enough to just throw out a few more minion to chip away at the THP. Or say "the whole room fills with Posion gas, you all take 5 damage at the start of your turn". Which makes the Twilight feel special for countering that, when it's really there to counter Twilight. Or every monster...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can Wild Magic be a Wizard 'thing' in D&D 5?

I still disagree with the premise, but I am pro fun. So maybe something like. 3: as a bonus action, select a random 2md level spell from the wizard spell list. You have that spell prepared until you take a long rest. In addition, once before the end of your next turn you can cast it using a...

    D&D 5E (2024) Can Wild Magic be a Wizard 'thing' in D&D 5?

It doesn't work thematically IMO. Wizards study arcane formulas, which doesn't lend itself to chaos. Your write the arcane pattern and say the words, and the thing happens. Do it again, repeat the results. It would make more sense for a Cleric or Warlock tied to an entity of chaos. That...
