    Fantasy world maps and real world geology

    I'm a geologist by trade, and by training (with 2 1/2 years of physics thrown in). Realism is pretty important to me... right up until the point where it starts to kill the coolness or fun of an idea. I like my maps to at least try and make some sense, unless the idea is just too cool to pass up.

    If your players start critting/sneak attacking undead, then just start giving undead their Cha mod in extra hp per hit die. It'd essentially even out, AFAIK. Sure, it makes unintelligent undead easily (re)killable, but for your typical lich or vampire, that'll help keep them in the fight.

    Ability Score Survival, Round 1 - FIGHT!

    Unless you're playing a paladin, sorcerer, bard, or a cleric that's focused on turning/rebuking undead, Charisma is negligible, unless your DM tends to run RP-centric games. For a dungeon crawl, unless you're playing one of the aforementioned classes, it's completely worthless.
