Cool! #140 and 109. There's some surprising cars low down - until you realise that it was wet.

    February: What are you reading?

No, I could never read a novel on a PC screen either. I'm finding the Kindle a completely different experience, though. Hmm, it just got bumped up my "to-read" list :)

    Rules Misunderstandings Over The Years

We did exactly the same! Actually, it was a new guy that joined our group that ran a Monty Haul game that started to give out HP along with XP. My MU ended up with over 100hp and, since he had also acquired a breath weapon, dished out a ton of damage three times per day. I did wonder why some...

    February: What are you reading?

It's on my list of books downloaded from Gutenberg.org to watch on my Kindle :)

    February: What are you reading?

I've decided to read some classics (that I've never read before) that are free on my Kindle. So far, I've read A Study in Scarlet by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and started The Island of Dr Moreau by HG Wells.

Heh! Yeah, I assume Bentley left TG high & dry at the last minute so the production team thought they'd get some revenge and embarrass them - like the guest (Roy Hattersley) who didn't turn up for HIGNFY, so they replaced him with a tub of lard.

I've a vague idea it might have been a TVR, but no idea which episode. I enjoyed last night's show - which is the best car for an Albanian mob boss, and hot hatchbacks that you can't buy.

'Community' to have a Dungeons & Dragons episode

What Should You Be Able to Accomplish in Four Hours?

Why? Is she hot? (this site needs a "rimshot" smilie)

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

This is an excellent idea that works both ways. There are clearly DMs & players that have different preferences, and it's probably best for the game if they don't mix. Write your ad "being the biggest douchebag I could possibly be", as Hussar put it, then you'll get the type of players you...

Are you in the RPG closet?

Well, the Programme Delivery Director that I report to is one of the guys in my game, so at least one person in the office knows I'm a gamer!

Are you in the RPG closet?

Fast, expensive sports cars are not normal - a mid-size affordable family car is normal.

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Same here. Monday night is game night. If the current DM can't make it, then we'll still get together and play a boardgame, or watch a movie instead. Spending Monday night with my gamer friends > the game. P.S. and now I've just lost The Game. And so have you.

Savage Worlds - Hit Point System?

Hmm, I did some searching when I had a free moment, and couldn't find anything. I'll look again later. <edit> Here's something, although I'm not sure if it's the article I was thinking of: http://forum.rpg.net/showthread.php?t=481533

Savage Worlds - Hit Point System?

I'm pretty sure I've seen one posted on either rpg.net or the SW boards. A quick search should find it.

Why is it so difficult to find good groups?

A couple of years ago I was at Gencon, sat at a table that was just winding up a game, when a DM came over and asked if anyone wanted to play in his Golden Age superhero M&M game (as one player had dropped out) after this one was finished. I'm not a fan of the genre, nor really interested in...

Why is "I don't like it" not good enough?

Well, some of us live several thousand miles away, otherwise we would have been delighted to float his boat and attend the party. Given your stated desire not to offend people, I find your choice of words "alcohol siphoning litterbugs" strange.

    Real-life dungeons of Nottingham Castle

I've tended to experience it the other way round - visiting a castle, and then recognising that a DM used it in his game. You're right, though, it can give a common reference point between players and DM.

    Real-life dungeons of Nottingham Castle

Definitely. I open the curtains in the morning at home to a view of Lumley Castle. Take the train in to work to Newcastle. Go shopping in the nearest city and see Durham castle. Heck, my street has "Castle" in the name! Cthulhu terrorising Lumley Castle by lpmcc, on Flickr Going back a...
