Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

Yes, I do. For one, D&D as a game would be their main focus. How important is D&D to WOTC? Not very. How important is it to Hasbro? I guess they care about the brand name, but that's it, and yet they do little to actually promote the brand, because they have so many others. And making a "dog's...

How many arrows can an expert archer fire in a round?

Well, the same thing goes for guns. You can easily empty a revolver, much less an autoloader, in 6 seconds. Heck, the record for a revolver is 12 shots in under 3 seconds (including reloading with a speed loader)

Adventures in the East Mark (Basic Retro Clone) Kickstarter

It's a Spanish retro clone of basic D&D. The KS is to translate it into English, it's already available in Spain and has a lot of fancy artwork. http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/davebrown/adventures-in-the-east-mark-the-red-box Haven't seen it mentioned here (or anywhere, really), so I...

Licensing, OGL and Getting D&D Compatible Publishers Involved

While you can copy the mechanics, you might run into problems if you use all the terminology. And spell names. And monsters (since a lot of have their own spin on mythology). You can get around that by changing those things, but then you aren't really making a D&D clone anymore. The OGL lets...

    Favorite D&D Retroclone?

Not counting the "pure" retro-clones that just replicating old editions (OSRIC, LL, etc), I'd say Blood & Treasure in my favorite. It's far from perfect (some of the classes kinda suck), but it's a good mix of 3e and OD&D. And as a resource, it's wonderful, converting every SRD monster (and them...

Licensing, OGL and Getting D&D Compatible Publishers Involved

I think 3rd parties probably could make 5e products using the OGL right now, based on the 3e SRD. Much like there have been numerous old school products based on it. What there wouldn't be is some sort of trademark license, to indicate compatibility. They'd have to say something like "For Use...

Ring Side Report- Shadowrun Returns Review

I liked it a lot. Probably the only video game I actually finished in the last couple years. True, partly because it was a little short (maybe 15 hours?), but also because once I started playing it, I kept playing it.

    Arrows of Indra

For someone who seems to be rather upfront about asking for review copies from people on his own site (er, RPGSite), the author seems to be stingy in giving them out. I've yet to see any in-depth reviews, and it's got a fairly hefty price tag compared to other comparable games.
