    Rituals, lots of them !

Y'know, I think that is a fair assessment. With combat taking more rounds in 4e, a minute casting time would still be potentially worthwhile. I think I'll use that as the minimum of quick-casting... or rather, the most quickly a spell could be cast by a... truly amazing ritual caster.

    FR Player's Guide

But do you think there'll be enough to justify buying it? And, what would justify it for you? And... I guess props to them for the plan of making something that would otherwise not appeal to me... appeal greatly.

    FR Player's Guide

I'm not interested in running a FR game, but this book is growing more and more interesting. Anyone else thinking similar thoughts? (If there's a similar thread with ramblings of an aligned nature, please do link me)

    Adventurer's Vault Excerpt: Airships

Man... Shadowrun. Good stuff. So, I was thinking when I looked at that, "Man, it'd be so easy to add a few rules like armor to certain areas, cannons, having weak points that cause certain effects..." The thing is... I actually like coming up with those rules myself. Stormwrack was so useless...

    Rituals, lots of them !

Quick-casting without limit is a phenomenally bad idea in most situations. With a high magic setting that is different than the 4e PoL setting it actually makes sense. Not having quick-cast rituals actually seems a little bad for that sort of setting. As far as PoL goes, quick-casting w/out a...

    Rituals, lots of them !

I think high Arcana/expending healing surges/feats will evolve for making certain rituals work faster. I think it will happen simply because it is a fun idea. When 3.0 D&D first came out I wanted a character who was of draconic blood (a sorc) to pretty much become a half dragon. Essentially...

    Adventurer's Vault Excerpt: Airships

Offers a left thumb to the person w/ a Xenogears icon. Citan was the best.

No Multiclassing in my campaign - a problem?

I actually like certain multi-class combinations. However, with the errata and paragon multi-classing being the lose, I can understand how you could say 'no multiclassing at level 1.' Or even up until level 4. Just say it's complicated and has a lot of pitfalls. So, you're not strictly outlawing...

3e->4e: The origin of the Defender Class

Man, I hate that dude. Weighing in with the OP, I've had this discussion with some friends. I remember one saying fighters were awful when he first looked at them BECAUSE he saw that they were no longer strikers. Once he saw what they were capable of he changed his mind and loves them. I...

D&D Online to gradually transfer from 3.5 to 4e

Soo... DDO. I tried it when it first came out. Terriblebadawful. One of the worst purchases of my life? yes. The worst? Not sure. ...but probably. Over the summer a friend said that they had made a bunch of patches that made the game more... fun. My response was, "Fun at all?" ...turns out...

    Personality

Soo... I was in a game recently where a player was pretty much a death-dealing machine. The player/character both were just out to kill stuff. He was an elven ranged ranger who multi-classed into cleric of the Raven Queen. Our DM had some fun with having him not really knowing his own past. If a...

Dragon 366 - Mithrendain, Citadel of the Feywild

I skimmed it and am... not impressed. I want Eladrin cities to sound mystical and removed and quite fey. This sounds like it really could be any city anywhere (the orbs of anti-stealth that can be loophole stealthed are kind of cool). Soo... the eladrin-oriented fighter powers rub me the wrong...

    Group Sneak Attack

Or house rule it to go with your gut? Our house rule was that anything that is blast or burst is a single attack that the rogue can choose to include his/her SA damage in. But, for things that would have multiple attack rolls the SA damage would only be applied once. This carries into Hunter's...

Well that didn't take long, wizard has been shelved.

Enworld ate my post. Summary. I like Rechan's poem. Fire Shroud. Eladrin or Tiefling. Apologies for briefness, simply agitated by long post being eaten.

Dude, Family, welcome back! (I actually was wondering where you had gone off to when I made my comment to this thread)

    Hunter?

Thanks for all the great responses. I've been skimming the pdfs and checking out the sight. nWoD has a significant shift in tone, and I'm not sure if I'll like the one for HtV. I liked CtD and CtL, even though they are very different feeling games. HtR was the first oWoD game I actually ran, so...

    Hunter?

Aye. But, I do remember when ENW was better for info about 4e than pretty much anywhere else IMHO. But, thanks very much for the responses. I'm also curious about how people feel about the released information so far. Good vibes? Bad vibes? Etc.

    Hunter?

Thanks for the responses. I'll look into the Hunters Hunted Vampire stuff (ran a bit of the reckoning a few years back). Stonegod, you made me chuckle, thanks. Hopefully other people will post, but thanks very much again.

    Taking a Break

If I say Amazing Geniusness do I get something rad? In regards to Jay, I recognize you. I've been away from these forums lately (for pretty much your reasons) but -hey - I'm back! Cool, huh? (I still like that word.) Point being, I'm glad that it seems like you're still hanging in there and...

    Hunter?

I know these boards tend to be more D20 oriented (or my perception isn't high enough?), but I was wondering if someone knew some good digs about the new white wolf Hunter? I've found a few bits of information on the internets, but I was wondering if anyone had a jackpot of info I could sink my...
