Vagrant Hearts (Season 1: Complete), The Smuggler's War (Writing: Episode VII)

Very entertaining story hour, masshysteria! I have especially enjoyed it as I am considering starting a Star Wars Saga Edition campaign this fall. My group has two GMs (myself and a friend) and we rotate GMing duties every three months/six sessions (we play twice a month). When my turn to GM...

    Expanding Elsir Vale

I just took a look and believe that Overlook and the Stonehome Mountains can be meshed with the Vale fairly easily.

    Expanding Elsir Vale

You are correct. I just checked out issue 156 and it does say it has been a decade. And yes, the fulff should be useable without much difficulty. The adventures themselves, altered or not, won't work though as they are geared towards much lower level PCs than my current group is.

    Expanding Elsir Vale

Has anyone here expanded Elsir Vale from the Red Hand of Doom module and used it as a full-blown setting? I ran RHoD for my group starting in 2007 and finished it about a year later. I originally planned to drop the Vale into my own homebrew and make it fit. At the conclusion of the module...

3PP still producing 3.5 compatible stuff?

Exactly. It was my inarticulate way of trying to say D&D STUFF SPECIFICALLY FOR THE 3.5 VERSION.

3PP still producing 3.5 compatible stuff?

I had never heard of Welcome to the Dungeon! - Dungeonaday.com. That is a very cool site! I've always enjoyed Monte's stuff. Thanks for the info on that one!

3PP still producing 3.5 compatible stuff?

I know about Paizo and what they are doing but I was wondering if there are other publishers out there that are still making stuff compatible with D&D 3.5? Adventures, sourcebooks, or settings in print or pdf that are for D&D and the 3.5 version of the game is what I am referring to specifically.

    Using Dwarven Forge dungeons

I have a bunch of Dwarven Forge and it is tough to use in a game if it isn't set up ahead of time. Grabbing the right pieces and configuring them can slow the game down a bit. That said, if you can set it up prior to the start of the game, then it is great! It really helps everyone visualize...

My Experience of 4e Marketing Failing

It certainly is a huge failure if WotC is relying on chain stores to move its product and the employees in said stores have no clue what they are selling. I don't care if the clerk is only making seven bucks an hour, they should have some idea of what they are talking about. Heck, even some...

EN World RPG Book Club for June

I recently picked up Land of Og: Revised Edition (the predecessor to Og: Unearthed Edition) for the huge sum of $1.00 in the used section of my FLGS. From what I have seen, Og: Unearthed uses a completely different set of rules although I don't actually have the new rules to make a good...

    I don't get what you'all are saying

Not sure the rude reply was called for. I wasn't trying to get anyone up in arms with that statement. I was just pointing out that polls here have been split in response to Najo's blanket statement that those that disliked 4e are a vocal minority which in my opinion is not entirely accurate...

    I don't get what you'all are saying

Judging by a few of the polls conducted here lately, I'm not sure minority is an appropriate term to describe those who don't like 4e. To answer the OP, I'm not sure the biggest complaint is being unable to roleplay a certain way. I believe the majority of complaints revolve around 4e not...

If you love 3.5 so much....go DM it!

Ditto. 3.5 does what I and my players need it to do. I don't think prep time is difficult at all as a DM. There are plenty of tricks to speed things up and after doing it long enough, it has become second nature. In addition, three of my six player's PCs would be invalidated by 4e (two...

Is 4E still D&D to you?

From everything I have read about 4e, my answer would have to be NO. The reasons for my vote are several including the fact that Vancian magic is gone, the strange new alignment system, new classes and races, and the removal of several classes and races. All that said, I haven't actually...

    Is anyone sticking with 3.5?

I have no idea how many shelves of 3.x stuff I have...most of it is scattered around the gaming area! :D Some is on shelves, some is stacked in a chair next to where I sit at the gaming table. If I had to estimate (i.e. if I ever organized my stuff), I would guess I have 2-3 shelves of 3.x...

    Is anyone sticking with 3.5?

Not to derail my own thread but... Eric, I love what you've done with your Western Shore campaign setting! Cool map! I like all the references to other published adventures and your house rules are great! They manage to fix things without drastically changing the rules. Consider some of...

    will 4.0 succeed?

Maybe...but I personally don't see that many people switching. That is 8 or 9 out of every 10 current players. From folks I have talked to in my local gaming circles, the divide is almost 50/50. I can see 50-60% of current players switching over. When 3e was coming, my gaming group was...
