I’m a forever DM and in my experience if you have a world you play in for years and years people end up caring. If the campaign world changes each campaign they don’t really care about it.

I eyeball it by having encounters with a mix of few monsters that can down the toughest single PC in three rounds if it hits with every attack or many monsters that the tank can down in two rounds if it hits with every attack. That’s worked for me for years.

It seemed as if the boundaries of reality were breaking down in remote areas. Other realities would bleed into the world as it had just become old, tatty and tired. ‘Thinies’ where worlds would overlap (like the elemental planes) would intrude into the prime plane would exist.

I’ve always thought of Athas as a world that has ‘moved on’ (like off of Stephen King). For my games distances change and time goes a bit wonky out in the wastes.

Describing things in the environment. I almost always have to draw any area they are in. Flavour text for areas is a god send for me.

I got it on switch but I think it’s in Steam and consoles. It’s really good.

I saw it. I really liked it. I like Snyder films for their epic spectacle and the DC universe fits the bill (for me). I’m not the biggest DC reader so if the characters did not exactly match the comics I did not really notice or get hot and bothered about it. I thought it was a perfect 8.2/10.

I now use five minute short rests with normal long rests but DM has to okay long rests.

One of my guys loves coming up with combos that are pretty sweet. I recycle them back into the game to be used against him (and the rest of the party).

I very much prefer a levelled approach with a definite plot to the adventure. My players hate not having a definite direction to go in and very much prefer a time line that will carry on without them.

Can’t help thinking when you asked him if he could make a character in 30 mins he took that as ‘30 mins from now’.
