Well, I'm working on a Grummok novella, which should be finished in a couple of months. I'm not sure if I will release it all at once or serialize it. As for distribution, I'm not sure on that front either. If a publisher is interested in it, then I could go that route, or I might simply release...
Sorry, I wasn't trying dictate to you the best choice for your character or NPC, I just wanted to let you know that the class isn't designed for spellcasters. I didn't want you to get the wrong impression about the class, possibly buy it, and then be unsatisfied with your purchase.
The theme of...
The entry requirements are a +5 BAB and two feats, so a wizard or sorcerer could take the class at 11th level. Although the class has no spell progression, so it would be a suboptimal choice at best.

Blackdirge Publishing takes a closer look at an often-ignored weapon in the newest installment of the Master at Arms series: the knight of staves. Despite its versatility, the quarterstaff is not often found in the hands of skilled warriors, and is usually relegated to serving mages and...

The book has been through two edits. One edit from yours truly to give it a general clean up and make it OGL compliant, and another, professional edit, by Jeremy Forbing.
BD
Hey guys,
Just to clarify, the original message board version of Dretch to Demon Lord is not OGL compliant. It falls under that grey area of "fan fiction". The published version, however, has undergone an extensive edit to make it OGL compliant.
I hope that clarifies things a bit. Or did I...
Yeah, if Icould dig up some hitorical evidence, I'd be more inclined to do a Master at Arms on these oddballs. If you know of anything, let me know.
I think I could probably make the dwarven waraxe, dwarven urgrosh, and gnome hook hammer believable even without soild historical evidence. The...
One of the difficulties there is the fact that I base most or all of the abilities for the Master at Arms classes on how the weapons were actually used. I have no idea how anyone would use an orc doubleaxe or a dwarven urgrosh (sp?). :)
But the idea does have merit; I'd just need to figure...
Right. I'd forgotten about those. If I end up doing anything on whips, I'll have to get that one to make sure i don't repeat what's already out there.
BD
I've considered the whip, but it was done pretty well with the lasher. I'm definitely doing the scythe and sickle. In fact I found some pretty cool historical stuff for both weapons.
The lance has possibilities, although i wouldn't want it to look too much like the cavelier. If I did it, I...
Release Update
Hi all, here's a quick update on what's coming up for Master at Arms.
The next release is the knight of staves, which will be released Monday, July 9th. As its name suggests, the knight of staves is a master of the quarterstaff.
After the knight of staves comes the crimson...
In the latest installment of the Master at Arms series, Blackdirge Publishing explores one of the more obscure weapons in the d20 system: the ranseur. While certainly not a glamorous weapon, the ranseur is an incredibly effective one, and those that have mastered its use are formidable warriors...
It's a gray area. Something that D20 is full of. If your DM (or you) is OK with that kind of damage output for low level characters, then by all means use it. There's certainly enough evidence to make the argument that a greatclub should work with the spell.
Personally, I think it's a bit too...
Judgment call. But I think Zathraas has a good point, and I don't think the designers intended the great club to be used with the spell. I mean, think about it, you're talking about 3d8+1 base damage with a 1st level spell. That's pretty gnarly.
BD
I've already downloaded it ( I don't mind the .35 cent fee). Although, I had no idea that the you and the author were the same person. :)
It's a solid little class. I'll post a review when I can find a few minutes.
BD
No problem. It changed with 3.5.
I personally like it better. It's more potent, but since only the caster can wield it, there's not as much room for abuse. Hell, in my opinion, druids need a few more combat-oriented spells anyway.
