D&D 5E (2014) Heavy Armour Master, how does a front liner survive without it?

As long as they inflict non-magical piercing/bludgeoning/slashing damage.

    D&D 5E (2014) Bob's HotDQ Issues List (SPOILERS!)

It's not too difficult to highlight (even on my phone -- Thank you select all), and he mentions some things I haven't seen elsewhere. Still, I agree that it's probably overkill. Players who want to spoil the experience can highlight text too.

D&D 5E (2014) Everyone Starts at First Level

I feel like much of the resistance to this idea comes from players steeped in the 3E/4E mindset (which is not a bad thing!). It represents a different style of play and one which would, frankly, be miserable in those editions. (IMO, of course). With 5E, it doesn't have to be. I find that...

D&D 5E (2014) Warlock as the arcane caster of the group?

I'm going to disagree. The warlock is more capable of all-day play than a wizard ... For frequent short battles, anyway. The short rest refresh also combos extremely well with fighters and others who get back their abilities after a short rest. They can go on and on and on, limited only by...

    D&D 5E (2014) Forced movement

The druid in question was making use of the Shapechange spell.

D&D 5E (2014) Everyone Starts at First Level

This is interesting. I wonder, who would be opposed to bringing in characters whose level is based on their backstory? IE -- Farmer with big dreams, joining up at the local tavern -- level 1. Hardbitten mercenary who has seen a decade of war -- level 6. Etc.

D&D 5E (2014) Everyone Starts at First Level

A GM who enforces this rule likely also tries to build his or her encounters in such a way that the low level characters can still contribute. The party is fighting a giant? Maybe it has goblin lackeys that the lower level characters can deal with to keep the heat off the higher level ones...

    Editing Signatures

The signature parameters seem much too restrictive. 88 characters, by my experimentation. That's hardly a sentence. Little more than half a tweet. Is it intended to be quite THAT short? I know some restrictions are required in order to maintain legibility, but this seems a little extreme.

D&D 5E (2014) Recurring Villains in The Lost Mine of Phandelver

Glasstaff escaped the first few encounters with my players as well. They finally caught up with him in Wave Echo. I chose not to "level" him up, though. They really felt like they were gaining in power when they could kick his butt easily after their previous showings.

    D&D 5E (2014) Conjure Fey -- Super Disappointing

If that was an option, I'd agree. Sadly, it isn't, AFAIK. It is indeed, but the spell only allows up to CR 6. Unless you spend an 8th level slot, that is.

    D&D 5E (2014) Conjure Fey -- Super Disappointing

Alas, poor Conjure Fey. It allows you to conjure a fey creature (or beast) up to CR 6. And the highest CR Fey we have in the MM is the Green Hag at CR 3 and the only CR 6 beast (Fey spirit, per the spell) is the Mammoth. Seems a little disappointing to me. We need some Sidhe, stat!

    D&D 5E (2014) Monster Relationships

Drow: Slaves: Quaggoth Exiles: Driders (failed test of Lolth) Priestesses can summon: Yochlol (Handmaidens of Lolth) Wizards can summon: Shadow Demons(?) I didn't get very far last night, but ephemeron beat me to most of the ones I did see.

    D&D 5E (2014) Monster Relationships

It'll have to wait until after work, I'm afraid. But yes, it looks like I've got some reading and tabulating to do.

    D&D 5E (2014) Deconstructing 5e Classes - interest?

I'm interested in seeing the rough draft. Sounds like fun, honestly.

    D&D 5E (2014) Monster Relationships

Does anyone know of a place/has anyone done the work to mark out what the relationships are as depicted in the monster manual between the various creatures? For example, the Intellect Devourer lures rubes to Mind Flayers. The book is full of such connections. Has anyone collected them all so...

D&D 5E (2014) Everyone Starts at First Level

I've actually been testing this out in my LMoP mini-campaign. So far, it has worked wonderfully. When they entered the last dungeon, 2 members were 4th level and 2 were 3rd level. Through smart play, they were all level 4 by the end. Everyone felt that they could contribute (maybe not as...

D&D 5E (2014) Do magic missiles automatically hit

I was going to say that he should have stayed behind cover but then I remembered, "Magic Missile." Yeah, not much you can do about that. An execution, pure and simple.
