What are some 'interesting' race/class combos?

Dragonborn Star Warlock (MC Paladin) Tiefling Paladin (mostly for the unusual flavor) Half-Elf Rogue (1/encounter eyebite + an action point is great!) Dwarf Staff or Orb Wizard/Infernal Warlock Elf Longspear Fighter Halfling Rapier Paladin (MC Fighter for light blade powers)

    Racial Aspect

Thanks. That seems like a really cool idea. At first I was imagining these being feats for specific race/class combinations to make any race/class combination work well. Which, I guess, is what your still doing in a way. In any case, I hope the development goes well, good luck to you.

    Racial Aspect

I like the sound of aspects, but I can't say I fully understand the concept. It will be interesting to see what you come up with in the future.

    Streetwise skill not needed

Agreed, it is important to consider as another "environmental" skill, just like nature and dungeoneering. Streetwise is the general urban environment skill.

    Aasimar

Agreed, either don't make it cost a healing surge, or increase the dice to 2d6.

what should the spell focus attribute requirement be?

Actually, the staff has its uses. it's great for making a wizard that functions as a defender (yes, it's doable). And yes, I voted Con, however, that was only because Cha was no longer an option (it's a biased poll).

Challenge! I want to convert your concept!

This is an easy one. In any fine school there would of course be mandatory tactical military education. So, simply, you're a warlord! Take Diplomacy and History. Pick up Nature and/or Dungeoneering with the Skill Trainning feat and you're all set to go.

Challenge! I want to convert your concept!

Well, there is always the ranger, who gain proficiency with both the sword and spear. Both of those are one handed weapons as it so happens, so you can duel wield them. If you're not into duel wielding, a few of the ranger's powers can be used without wielding a weapon in each hand - so pick...

    The sub-optimal challenge

Honestly, it's true that there is very little system mastery needed, up to a point. I've been running a lot of 4E games since I got my hands of the rules. EVERY character that has grown organically (starting and first level and growing from there has been great. No character has been weak...

    They Killed Alignment

In 3.5E Hitler is LE; in 4E Hitler is E. Not only did they kill a few alignments, the other's took their stuff.

Secondary Skills and a Fix for Intelligence

I think I have a good house rule to take care of both these problems. Rule: A character gains training in a number of secondary skills equal to 1 + his Intelligence modifier (minimum 1 trained secondary skill). A secondary skill is a single specific job or skill that can be covered by the...

    Martial Artist Feats

Halflings already do the same damage with unarmed attack as all other races. I think it's fair to keep it that way. Real life example of martial arts that are best used against larger foes: Ju-Jitsu (spelling?).

    Aasimar

First of all, I like it. Here are just a few suggestions to consider. First, I would make them more lawful (in the 3.5 sense) than good. This keeps them from being too much of a goody-two-shoes. Second, It might be a good idea to change the name of "Angelic Righteousness" to "Angelic Zeal" or...

    Sample Character request: Warrior/Mage

Eladrin tactical warlord, multiclassed into wizard is pretty awesome. If you're OK with playing a warlord, I highly recommend this build. Take Ritual Casting at 2nd, Eladrin weapon training at 4th, and then the multiclass feats. It's a completely viable build synergies quite well. Makes sure...

    Rituals

I agree with you with the opinion that raise dead should be Religion based. However, since no roll is necessary, I'm not going to sweat it. On the other hand, I like how the ritual components are very general, it gives more options to the players and how they, specifically, use alchemical...

    Rituals

He's referring to the "death penalty" provided by the Raise Dead ritual. When you die in Guild Wars, you take a death penalty, just like 4E.
