Hee hee! I found an error in this month's Gamestoppers!

Maybe the aforementioned goblin had Monkey Grip from S&F.

    sneak attack grapple, while invisible?

Depends. If the person KNOWS the rogue is there, then consider it melee as usual. Grant the attacker the normal bonuses for being invisible and the person is denied his DEX. Does being denied your DEX prevent you from making AoOs? Without the book here, I can't remember. If not, see the...

    Buying Magic Items & Healing

You can do it several ways. For potions: Since clerics can make healing and other beneficial potions, chances are, major churches will have some available for their clerics, local army/militia and local lords/merchants. They will probably be willing to part with some to PCs of the same...

    Question about S&S feat

You are looking at only half of the equation is the problem. And actually referring to FEINT, as opposed to Quicker than the Eye since obviously Quicker than the Eye is in S&S, not PHB. The confusion, I'm guessing, is coming from the fact that expert tactician states that ANYTIME an opponent...

    Question about S&S feat

Completely is a powerful word. One you have COMPLETELY misused in this particular situation. =) Can you quote an official source to that ruling? I've seen it stated both ways... and as yet have seen nothing official contradicting me. Also, I was referring to the QUICKER THAN THE EYE feat...

    Question about S&S feat

Not sure what Dragon magazine it was in, but he was talking about casting a moving and casting a full round spell while hasted and basically stated that 2 partial actions = a full round action, so the person COULD move and cast a full round spell... or full attack... or whatever.

    Question about S&S feat

It's pretty simple actually. You take your Move-equivelent action to "distract" an opponent, the opponent then makes a spot check vs. your bluff check and if the opponent fails, your standard action (attack, etc.) is made with the opponent loosing his/her DEX. What does this mean? Basically...

    Blind-Fight

Rogues can sneak attack when a person is denied their DEX. This usually happens in one of several ways... Suprised/Flat-footed -- Can be overcome with Uncanny Dodge (first type) Flanked -- Can be overcome with Uncanny Dodge (second type) Invisible --...

    Two Weapon Wackiness.

Nope... one head of the double weapon is enchanted as a +1 weapon and the other head is enchanted as a +1 weapon. Each "head" is considered a seperated weapon for enchantments. So theoretically, this surpasses the +10 limit for a weapon... because it's a DOUBLE weapon.

    ring of evasion

The desciption states nothing about armor restrictions. Since this it is not specified, I would say it grants evasion to the wearer no matter what armor he/she/it is wearing.

    Ranger/Thief backstab question

Wow... that is pretty freakin lame of you. I hope you have more than the "I AM GOD AND THIS IS WHAT I SAY" reason for changing their magic items into non-magical. If I was playing in that campaign and you did something ultra lame like that, I'd pretty much stand up, grab my books and look for...

    Mounted Archery Balanced?

Yup... it's all fun and games until someone pulls out a bag full of caltrops.

    Problems with Greater Magic Weapon

Are the villians going to TARGET the weapons? Otherwise they have to use Area Effect dispel which will target the lowest level enchantment. If they some low level spell on themselves, the dispel will affect the low level enchantment instead of the magic weapon. Also remember... each dispel...

    Beholder's combat

I'm going to say "NO", a beholder must maintain a static orientation. I see the beholder as more as a mobile ballon. Sure, he can move, he he maintains his orientation. Otherwise, consider that the anti-magic eye will be COMPLETELY off-line while he swivels his eyestalks toward a single...

    Hand Crossbow

Just buy a small-sized light crossbow. The damge will probably be reduced to 1d6 instead of 1d8, so you actually get MORE damage and don't need an exotic weapon proficiency. Just look in the DMG for the scaling weapons rules. (Er... I think it was DMG)

    Question: Rules on biting

Keep in mind that BITE is always a natural attack and as such the creature (in this case person) always has proficiency. The real question is whether or not it is subdual or real damage. I would say real damage since you can ...oh, say BITE SOMEONE'S EAR! Go Tyson! Go Tyson! But I believe...

    Hat of Disguise

Actually, you can change your whole body, so just shakin hands might give them a chance. Personally, I would think they would need to first see thru the disguise roll using a successful Spot. Once they saw something was amiss, they would get a save to see thru the glamour.

    I flank myself! ...

How about making the person helpless to the ignored person, allowing the person being ignored to coup de'grace the person. Ignoring a person is really making yourself helpless against the attacker and gives the attacker the ability to very easily strike a vital area (backbone, neck, kidneys...

No more buckets of snails (not a house rule)

Wouldn't it make more sense for the vampire to summon a horde of rats and send it against the fighter to test his strength and observe his tactics? Why would the vampire do that anyway? Besides, the first hit the vampire makes against a 6th level fighter with those feats drops him 2 levels...

No more buckets of snails (not a house rule)

Don't be silly. OF COURSE the player should get the attacks. Look at the TIME and FEATS he invested... look at what LEVEL he should be. Feats required: Dodge, Mobility, Spring Attack, Whirlwind Attack (is expertise in here?) Power Attack, Cleave, Great Cleave That's 7 feats. That's a...
