Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

On my way out the door, so I can't give a detailed reply - but it's not an exact reprint of the 3.5MM. Some monsters that were in the 3.5MM were dropped; others that were in the Tome of Horrors were added in (froghemoth!!). I don't recall seeing any monsters I didn't recognize, so I don't think...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

For completeness' sake, here are the names in the sidebar for the Archons. Make of them as you will! "Archon Empyreal Lords" Asteria, of the Endless Order Cocidius, Hawk-Keeper Duellona, the Warrior Maiden Erlang Shen, the All-Seeing Hors, the Freezing Sun Inanna, Princess of the Sky Lugus, the...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

No art or descriptions; just a list of names in sidebars. IIRC, Paizo is publishing (Golarion-flavored) books on the denizens of the lower planes, so I expect there to be descriptions and stats in those. "Demon Lords" Abraxas, Master of the Final Incantation Baphomet, Lord of the Minotaurs...

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

Kobolds get -4 STR, +2 DEX, -2 CON, and a +1 natural armor bonus, amoungst other things. Orcs get +4 STR, -2 INT, -2 WIS, -2 CHA. Good catch on the SRD issue. Yes, the lillend is an azata.

Pathfinder 1E Pathfinder Bestiary - Discussion

OK - I'm glancing through my hot-off-the-intarwebs subscriber PDF for a few minutes before I turn in for the night. A few notes before I turn into a pumpkin (and apologies if any of this is old news): - Aasimar gain +2 CHA, +2 WIS. No ability penalty. - "Eladrin" are no more; they are called...

PF Bestiary - change of date!

Hoody-hoo! I'm downloading the Bestiary as I type. It's 12:30am, but I think I'll stay up a few minutes longer to "flip" through. :) Thanks, Paizo!

Another suggest me a book thread (but this one is different)

You might enjoy some of Guy Gavriel Kay's books. TIGANA would be right up your alley, and his Fionavar Tapestry, starting with The Summer Tree, would also fit your tastes, I think. I love Hobb's books, but you may not want to read the other two trilogies; not because Fitz is an assassin (in the...

    [October] What are you reading?

A Shakespearean Actor Prepares by Adrian Brine and Michael York. I'm only about 70 pages in, and it's fantastic. There have been many insights where I've had to just put down the book and think about what's been said - lots of good, common sense and knowledge. I checked this out of the library...

Third Party: If So, Then What?

You've spent a lot of time in this thread deconstructing other people's arguments. Let's get back on topic, everyone, and keep posts focused on the discussion and not on reading tea leaves.

Zendikar: The greatest D&D setting never published

I've been thinking the exact same thing. Several Zendikar ideas and landscapes are going to find their way into my new PF homebrew (whenever that gets off the ground).

    Forgotten Realms - the classics

I completely agree with these statements. Most TSR/WotC fiction doesn't do anything for me, but I've very much enjoyed the novels by Cunningham and Baker.

    Why I'm done with 4e

Anyone who tries to turn this so-far civil discussion into a flame war will be bounced from the thread - or from the boards, depending on how egregious your post is. Keep it polite, please.

2 Years of Eric Noah + 8 Years of Morrus = 10 years of EN World!

Think of it this way - this place has been part of my life for over a quarter of my lifespan. Being here meant that my interest in D&D went from being something I had no one to share with, to being part of a big community of creative, smart, interesting people. I'm glad to call my fellow mods...

    GenCon Core Book Sold Out?

Sounds about right. The Paizo booth was my last stop before leaving around 2:30pm or so on Saturday, and they had about 100, maybe 125 copies left; just a quick guesstimate. The Thursday line was incredible, with people carrying multiple copies to purchase (they had a sign limiting people to 6...

8-sided d4? (Or: "My Google Fu is weak") ...

As promised, here's a (slightly blurry cellphone) picture from the GenCon Chessex booth. The texture on these is not smooth, but very slightly rough. (Velvety might be more accurate, but not that furry.) Wish I'd picked up a few, but my kids were needing to get going...
