I guess that's possible. Any idea what would cause that? Nothing on this computer has changed between when it was appearing (yesterday afternoon) and when it stopped (early today).
Yeah, I know. I'll probably do something similar to what Shade suggests. Strangely enough, I do prefer the demons from FC1 (from what I've seen), although I might shave off or add a HD here or there to suit a game where I was using them. I would prefer the Princes to be less powerful both...
It was a huge centipede vs. an enlarged dwarf... and wasn't as one-sided as you might think.
Also, having actually flipped centipedes before IRL, I know that they don't stay flipped. It's been a while since I was a bug-taunting child, but I remember it being somewhat hypnotic watching them...
Well, in the case of my spot ruling it allowed a character with Imp. Trip to make his followup attack. IMO it doesn't hurt (ahem) balance in any way, so I allowed it.
Anyways, nice to know that the RotG and FAQ articles mostly back me up on this, even the RAW to some extent. Thanks folks!
Can you trip a snake? A centipede? Amazingly, these both came up in the same session. I made a quick ruling that you could, but they could "stand up" as a free action that doesn't provoke AoO. What's the real rule? We'll probably stick with my quick ruling, but it'd be nice to know the "right" way.
It might not specifically be your source, or it might not be personal. I've heard the same sort of stuff for up to six months now from "friends of friends", or more precisely distributers to a couple of friends who own game shops. Somebody out there either has an axe to grind or has something to...
Yes, mostly. He's not really clear on the rules, but I'm the "main" DM for the group and I understand that if I don't give him my trust when I'm a player then I don't deserve it when I'm DMing.
Yeah. Bill Bridges, Zeb Cook, Jared Sorenson, Andrew Greenberg, Allen Varney, Sandy Peterson, Ken Lightner, John Wick, Warren Spector and Paul Jaquays (among many others) really should've stuck to greener pastures.
I've got 3 (sometimes 4-5, but not regularly) younger players in my group, and I know a few others that don't play in my group. I voted 6-10, and know of quite a few more. Of course, there are 3 game shops and several other comic and book stores that sell RPGs in my city of less than 100k people...
I voted "yes" if only because it's a great starter adventure/campaign for a younger/beginning DM. If you are used to more sophisticated adventures it might not be your cup of tea.
BTW, it's (very late) 1st-edition, not 2nd, if that matters.
In a lawful society, there might be laws in place preventing the use of detect evil. In addition, unless you have a "god squad," you only have the word of the cleric or paladin at hand. Outside of metagaming players, a group of people hearing that someone has detected as evil will form their own...
Sounds like a great adventure to start a campaign, or a great consequence for failure if you don't want to TPK a group. As a foregone conclusion regardless of party actions? No, no thank you. It's not so much that A4 is a bad module, more that A3 (and its force field/no-save gas ending) is a...
The only time PC death bothers me is when it's my fault... either because I made a mistake in the rules while DMing or because my character's Will save is so low that I'm easy pickings for enemy enchanters (I killed two fellow players and severely wounded another just two games ago... it was fun...
I really like speculative 4E threads. It's why I started checking out this site back in 2000, and why I still read it now (news and rumors surrounding the game).
