    Mighty Bows greater than +4

Re: Re: Mighty Bows greater than +4 Wow. I play an Archer, I know just how deadly archery can be even with the +4 limitation. I'd be really hesitant to add this one into my campaign. But IIRC, Kai Lord already plays a PA so I guess this can't be any worse, really ;)

    Most likable PrC

How about you not bash WotC in this thread and instead contribute to the topic and see how it feels? Besides, there's like, 3000 different prestige classes by WotC. There has to be something you like...

Mage Armor, incorporeal creatures and unarmed attacks

Support? It surrounds your body, unknown how much, with a force effect of some strength. The spell has the force descriptor Force affects incorporeal. Would I allow someone to punch a shadow? No. Like I said, I envision the Mage Armor spell (or Bracers) as not surrounding your hands. Would I...

Mage Armor, incorporeal creatures and unarmed attacks

The flipside to your take on that is that the field is a skin tight one that doesn't extend around any objects. It's a personal effect so I could see that interpretation as well. Regardless, I'm sure there are portions of you body that are not covered, or covered more thinly than others...

    Most likable PrC

The Windwalker from Faiths and Pantheons. It may be a bit powerful (I think sometone on the WotC development team REALLY loves Shaundakul), but when you think of everything a priest of Shaundakul would want to be able to do, this class nailed it. It epitomizes the faith. Also, the Shadow Scout...

Mage Armor, incorporeal creatures and unarmed attacks

OK, so how about instead of Mage Armor you're wearing Bracers of Armor +8? Would that give you a chance to grapple? I like the 50% miss chance on the grapple ad hoc ruling. BTW, I agree that Mage Armor covers the whole body, just weakly. A Wall of Force is the Grandaddy of force effects, and...

Four arms. Four swords. How many times can I hit you?

5 Attacks. You're using the off hand weapon rules, but are adding more off hand attacks. That's what multidex does for you. Primary is at normal iterative BAB.

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep

Nice history on the shield, Vek. I know I try to inject a little history into the items I carry, or the DM does it for me. It's still broke though. :p

    DotF magic item questions

I wouldn't really want this item in a campaign at any cost. It just causes too many problems as is. Rather than boosting the cost, I'd drop it to once a day. Being able to cast one of the best 4th level spells once a day as part of an attack action seems worth a +2.

The Adventures of the Knights of Spellforge Keep

Actually, it's the energy Drain enhancement from DotF, and it's absolutely broken. For a +2 cost you can make an unlimited number of shield bashes per day each causing 1-4 neg levels, no save. In addition to the physical damage. Doc, Great story. I would have voted for Dartan on your site but I...

    Quiver of Ehlonna

Nah, more than once a round. Remember, you're not necessarily limited to one free action a round. It's DM discretion. I think that comparing the cost to the gloves and Hewards is a good way to go. The quiver is greatly limited in terms of what it can hold for only a 200gp reduction in cost. I'd...

    Trips?

Read the weapon descriptions in the PHB. All of the trip capable weapons have the same statement in them that I posted (in bold) for the Spiked Chain. And how exactly does it happen that you cannot drop a weapon to avoid a trip? That doesn't make any sense.

Quick DR Question and Regarding Golems...

It's important since the golem is immune to Su effects. If the flame is Su, the golem would be immune. That doesn't feel right to me. I think you're saying here that the flames would affect the golem because it has unbeatable SR, which does not affect Su effects. However, this is not consistent...

Quick DR Question and Regarding Golems...

You decide by...deciding. Read the spell and make a call. Most are self evident, and it ends up being more consistent than the unbeatable SR concept. Move Earth: The Earth is moved, not the golem. Buried. Wall of Iron: A real wall is created and crushes the golem (a wall is instantaneous)...

    DotF magic item questions

Hey, never noticed that they altered the enhancements. Wow, Command is up to +80k! Considering the Charisma bonus is only worth 32k it might actually be a bit high...not sure exactly what price tag I would put on an area effect Will bonus. Apparently the designer thought it was worth a lot...

    DotF magic item questions

Even if you use an artificially inflated cost (+8 to +10) the math flat out doesn't work. So in this extreme case, you get a slotless +4 competence bonus to charisma which stacks with an enhancement bonus, and you get a +2 morale bonus to will saves for every ally within 30' for the cost of...

    DotF magic item questions

That's a Sage advice thing, right? I remember something about that and something similar with Improved grab, but I couldn't find anything in the MM errata. checking... In fact, they rewrote the Energy Drain entry and don't mention anything about it. Are you refering to something else? If not...

D&D 3.x What are the "problem" spells in 3E?

Screen is an 8th level spell, and although it lasts 1 day I think it's immobile meaning that the party can't travel with it running. Also, it has a 10 minute casting time meaning that it can't be cast quickly in response to detecting a scrying attempt.
  19. T

    Trips?

Well, sort of. I did think that an unarmed trip attempt would cause an AoO. I've been convinced otherwise. Not useless, especially since a fighter can easily have access to a weapon that allows a trip. Even if there was an AoO, it doesn't make it useless. Knockdown is a special case and not...

D&D 3.x What are the "problem" spells in 3E?

Possibly, but it not only blocks scrying automatically, it allows the caster to create disinformation if he so desires. Create a vision of the party sleeping with no guard set, but in actuality you're all spelled up and ready to jump anyone teleporting in. Or you can just radically alter the...
