    Quirky Food Habits

No Canucks, eh? As I brought them up, it's time to set the record straight. The Smarties I was referring to are a British chocolate candy that resembles M&Ms, save they are slightly larger. They have a different flavor, as well. I've never seen them in the US, but they are a popular...

    Quirky Food Habits

Sing it with me Canucks! "When you eat your Smarties, do you eat the Red ones last?" Oh, wait, you don't... ;) Actually, I got reminded of one. I put hot sauce in my spaghetti sauce. My preference is Crystal (which I can get now that I live in the South, again!), but sometimes I mix it...

    Salmon flavored soda

Crystal Pepsi...when I was an exchange student in Germany in 1998 (long after Crystal Pepsi had disappeared from North America) I discovered they still had it there. I drank tons of the stuff, just for the novelty factor. Dunno if they still have it over there, though. :)

    Salmon flavored soda

I recall seeing a large selection at the Target in Alexandria, but no Vanilla Soda. I believe they had frickin' Fufu Berry, BUT NOT VANILLA!! Okay, I'm better now. ;)

    Salmon flavored soda

Yep. Real Jones Soda is among my favorites. Their Vanilla Soda is a joy to drink, but unfortunately I've never seen it outside of Canada. Other Jones Sodas are available (Starbucks has some sorta deal with them these days), but not the Vanilla Soda. :(

    Quirky Food Habits

Probably more than I can name, but the one that I can think of: In a similar vein to the initial post: When I eat Cheerios, I must put the cereal in the bowl, pour the milk, and then spoon on 3-3 1/2 spoonfuls of sugar. Yes, it must be 3-3 1/2 spoonfuls. I do the same thing with oatmeal...

    Shadowrunners chime in

Huge SR fan here as well. First got into it with SR2 in the mid-to-late 90s, but quickly transitioned into SR3 when that came out. My copy of SR4 recently arrived so I've been going through that. Still feel kind of ambivalent about it, but am waiting to give it a shot. Don't get to play...

Alignment Threads for Dummies (The 12 Steps)

Yeah, I was expecting to see that in there...having perhaps have been guilty of that one myself once or twice... :heh: I'm reformed, I swear! :p

    Laser rifels!

Yeah, but if you make it out of hefty enough material, it looks like it could make a very serviceable bludgeon... :p

    New King Kong Trailer

Saw it on the big screen last night when I went to see 'Jarhead'. Looks awesome, definitely looking forward to this Christmas movie season.

    My Avatar is Awesome

Mine is an original piece done by a friend of mine. A Phoenix carrying an AIM-54 Phoenix. It amuses me... :p

    November--What are you reading?

Good to hear. I think a lot of us not in the education field get a skewed view of these things. My girlfriend is finishing up her education degree (HS US history) and often surprises me with insights and such that I otherwise don't have an opportunity to twig into. As someone who thinks...

    November--What are you reading?

I think you're overestimating how old I am. :) Sure, I loved Sideways Stores from Wayside School and My Side of the Mountain and other more modern works, as well, when I was young. Still managed to get through plenty of the classics, though I suppose I'm probably an exception. My intent...

    November--What are you reading?

Let's see: About to finish The Lance and the Shield: The Life and Times of Sitting Bull by Robert Utley. I enjoy delving into the history of the American West periodically. Pretty good book from a well-respected author. After that, I'm looking at Bombs, Bugs, Drugs, and Thugs by Loch...

    Gamer Significant Others

Going steady with a new gamer, who's only gotten into it since she met me. She's in Boston, though, so I see her more than I get to game with her. :)

    Google Earth

My technophile colleague at work brought this to my attention earlier this summer, which promptly dropped our collective productivity by about 50%. We're working on a history of OIF and probably spent 6 weeks marking every site of any importance on the map, assuaging our consciences with the...

    Lonely

Busy, busy, busy. Two of my co-workers have been sick, so I feel like I've been picking up the slack. Or trying to. Still too much to do and imminent deadlines are approaching (though still getting pushed back as my boss tries to keep up with editor input). So, really, same old, same old...

    Fast Food Weakness

That reminds me of when I lived in Germany for a few months, one of my favorite fast food-type experiences was to go to a kebab place, run by some of the local Turks. You'd go in, watch them carve the meat off the big chunk of meat being cooked on a sort of vertical spit, then put into a pita...

    Fast Food Weakness

TACO TIME!!! How I miss you...(I'm from Saskatoon) Haven't had Taco Time in ages, but it seriously is way better than Taco Bell. I'm always disappointed when I get it. Chipotles, however, is my favorite burrito place. They are huge and DELICIOUS. My favorite burger place has to be A&W...
