As long as you follow the OGL, yes. Complete Arcane is not an open source book. You can create datasets for your own use.

I noticed that as well. Leads me to believe that they're going to cut that piece of Snape's book out in HBP when it comes to the big screen.

ATM, WotC has not licensed any character generator, TMK, to produce datasets. Until that happens, you'll have to enter the information on your own. You can create your own datasets.

Which license are you reading? The OGL or the d20 STL?

We know its OGC, but the code monkeys have said it would take quite some time to get gestalt to work properly. You could, as a stop-gap, create datafiles for the specific classes. I realize that's a pain, but it is an option.

I know some users are using the CMP datasets with the 5.12 line (5.11.x). I don't know if they've encountered any serious issues or not.

Found the file I have...but it somehow got corrupted. Anyway, the title is Class Construction System by Greg "Magecraft" Korynta. Then there's ST Cooley's Buy the Numbers, but that isn't building classes per se, just abilities.

I thought there was another point-based guide out in the early days of d20 that let you create base and core classes?

PCGen has templates in it that you can apply to various creatures. So, in your example, you could pick a lion, and then apply the fiendish template to it.

I wish you luck (seriously). d20 alone is a moving target.
