I am truly curious if there will be a "Baldur's Gate" effect where people playing the video game become interested in the TTRPG. WotC should have made a table-top tie in to go along with the video game.

D&D is the big dog: it has a huge footprint and deep pockets. Will a new player go on the internet, Youtube, Discord, etc. and find out about other games? I think so! I started playing these games in 1980, and used to go to game stores, and read Dragon Magazine and White Dwarf to find out about...

Maybe WotC D&D will be the gateway drug for new players, who will then experiment and try different versions and systems. Hasboro (well...Magic The Gathering, really) has the money to advertise, push out content, etc. Let's all hope for the best.
