D&D General Weave Your Tale in the Forgotten Realms With 8 Epic Subclasses (D&D Beyond Article)

They sort of do, maybe? The surveys usually have boxes where you can type in whatever you like or dislike about the subclass in general, which is where I provide my feedback on the Lore changes (not always applicable but it has been a few times now). Whether they read and care about the...

D&D General 'Project Sigil' 3D Virtual Tabletop Finally Laid To Rest

I wouldn't bet any large amount of money on that. My assumption would be that absolutely no one asked for it, other then WotC higher ups who figured that a video-game-like virtual tabletop interface was their path to establishing cosmetic microtransactions as an engine to endlessly print free...

D&D General Weave Your Tale in the Forgotten Realms With 8 Epic Subclasses (D&D Beyond Article)

It absolutely does matter, but Lore wise, Paladins in 5e get their powers from their Oath, not from gods. At least as the default Lore written in the books - every DM can obviously alter the lore as they see fit for their table

2024 D&D Core Rulebooks Off to "Strongest-Ever" Start for D&D Books

After looking into it for a few minutes, I guess actually Hasbro only receives royalties on Monopoly Go and not the full game revenue. Monopoly Go makes WAY more money than MTG but Hasbro only gets a fraction so yeah that checks out

2024 D&D Core Rulebooks Off to "Strongest-Ever" Start for D&D Books

I didn't read the article but is MTG actually making any money compared to Monopoly Go? I thought Monopoly Go dwarfed everything else Hasbro owns combined

D&D 5E (2024) The Most Meta Party to Make the DM Cry?

Well ok, annoying clickbait phrasing aside, how are any of these party compositions better than another? Whatever approach the party goes with, the DM will tailor encounters to match up with whatever is required to challenge that composition. The entire concept of a "best" composition...

D&D 5E (2024) The Most Meta Party to Make the DM Cry?

Why would the DM cry with any of those party compositions? DnD is not a competition of DM versus Players, because the DM can always win every time As long as the players are all paying attention, engaged in the story, and having fun, any DM ought to be happy no matter what classes they are playing

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

BG3 is the best video game DnD experience to date, for that reason, but I wouldn't call it close to "ideal" in comparison to playing at an actual table with other actual humans

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

Well I mean you are the one who asked the question which can only possibly be answered with speculation since obviously evidence cannot exist for what would happen in a hypothetical situation that has not occurred. So I don't know what you think you're accomplishing by pointing out that answers...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

Priest at CR2 is a pretty common "monster" which has Dispel Magic. Most other monsters which have Dispel Magic would generally be found in specific locations - it is commonly found on Devils, Demons, Drow, Hags, Liches, Mummies, Sphinxes, but those aren't going to be wandering around the forest...

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

I seriously doubt that a PG-rated BG3 would have sold as well. A huge factor that drew so many non-DnD gamers in was the whole "you can do anything you want!" aspect. Obviously this is the norm for actual TTRPGs (to a far greater degree than is true for BG3), but BG3 goes so far above and...

D&D 5E (2014) Quick way to fix class balance if you don't use the assumed adventuring day

This is exactly what I do. Short rests only take 10 minutes and can basically be taken any time the party isn't in imminent danger, but each character can only benefit from 2 short rests per day. This works really well, and many new players don't even realize this is a homebrew modification...

D&D General Making Spellcasters feel Caster-y without actually Casting?

Are you talking about a game redesign such as a future 6th Edition? Or homebrew modifications to existing DnD rules? If we're talking about a game redesign then I'd say check out MCDM's Draw Steel for inspiration, or hell even something like World of Warcraft talent trees could probably work...

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

Yeah for sure, this thread was a dumpster fire from post #1. Derailing this thread can only help things and you're all good I was speaking more broadly in terms of the continuous trends observed in other threads which often are labeled as DnD 5e (2024), yet always end up with people (plural...

D&D General Why Enworld should liberate D&D from Hasbro

No one's being mean, just pointing out that disruptive posting is disruptive If only these forums had a way to tag which specific edition of the game your thread was about, and people knew that the thread was about that specific edition. Then we could let the people who enjoyed that edition...

D&D 5E (2024) Mike Mearls explains why your boss monsters die too easily

If an enemy is intelligent enough to cast dispel magic then obviously they are intelligent to know they can dispel Tiny Hut. Has anyone ever questioned this?

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

And you only have 3 spellslots, so you can use metamagic on most of your spells. It's level 2, resources are rather limited for everyone so I don't know what you're expecting here

D&D General Does Cleric/Druid get 2x wis bonus to Arcana checks?

Reading the wording in the PHB I see no reason why they wouldn't stack, and making a character on DnD Beyond, the bonuses do stack. So I'm going with Yes, they do stack.

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

You don't see appeal of Metamagic? It's kind of the entire reason to play Sorcerer

    D&D 5E (2024) 2nd level casters are disappoint

I disagree with the thread title of Casters generally being disappointing at Level 2 (e.g. absolutely not true for Sorcerers and Warlocks). Level 2 is definitely a weak spot for Wizards, you aren't wrong there. And then Clerics/Druids get powerful core features at Level 2 although you could...
