D&D 5E (2014) Heavy Armour Master, how does a front liner survive without it?

Ahh, my bad. I thought maybe you were saying that the feat only appiled to manufactured weapons, and thus creature attacks were not affected. Which is an argument I have heard brought up...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiple Backgrounds

Normally, that would be my first inclination as well, but this is not the first time I have heard of the issue. I don't remember if it was a forum or facebook group, but I have heard of the 'pick two Backgrounds' thing before...

    D&D 5E (2014) Multiple Backgrounds

One of my players was lucky enough to receive a Dungeonscape Beta invite, and has reported something odd. He says that the system is asking him to choose two Backgrounds. I have always had my players choose one and only one Background for their characters. I don't have my PHB at work. Can...

D&D 5E (2014) Heavy Armour Master, how does a front liner survive without it?

A creature's stat block indicates his natural weapons are Melee Weapon Attacks, so they are affected by this feat, are they not?

THIS. So freakin' much, this. D&D has always been a game of heroic fantasy to me.

    D&D 5E (2014) How good are Barbarians?

I understand where you're coming from, but in the abstract combat system of D&D where armor and hit points are not realistic, logical elements, it makes perfect sense. The Unarmored Defense of the barbarian is based off of Dex (dodging) and Con (shrugging off hits).

Yep, the player is big into the MMO scene and wanted to play an off-tank to his Dad's heavy armor Paladin main tank...

    D&D 5E (2014) How good are Barbarians?

I have a young man (15yrs) playing a mountain dwarf barbarian in my Game, currently 2nd level. He absolutely loves it! - he has more hit points than the tank - he ignores half damage taken when raging [and when he hits 3rd level, and bear totem, I believe he has resistance all the time; iirc...

    D&D 5E (2014) Has Anybody Heard...

...anything, from anyone, via any medium (twitter, reddit, an owl, etc) about how altering a creature's abilities affects its CR? If not, can one of you Twitter Warriors ask Mike Mearls about a possible Legends & Lore article addressing this issue? In a couple of weeks I'll be putting my group...

    D&D 5E (2014) D&D 5e death and consequences?

Stalker0 can you elaborate on the unfinished destiny thing? I rolled three critical hits Friday night: two of those resulted in deaths. One of those belonged to a player who has lost two characters in our first five Games of 5E (through no major fault of his own), and he had a bit of a...

    D&D 5E (2014) Dwarves & Encumbrance?

I use the Variant: Encumbrance rules [PHB, pg 176], but I modify the thresholds for dwarves: Str * 7.5 for Light Str * 12.5 for Heavy Str * 15 max does not change

D&D 5E (2014) How Do You Plan to Play Your Bard?

D&D 5E (2014) How We Beat the HD, HotDQ, Spoilers

Did you know going into the encounter that it was "unwinnable"? If so, then shame on you, the player for metatgaming. If you didn't know about the nature of the encounter, then shame on your LG wizard who used subterfuge and deceit. And to back up the above post by DEFCON, let's take a look...

D&D 5E (2014) So Monks can't actually use Eternal Mountain Defence until two levels after learning it?

An 11th level monk has 11 ki points, enough to perform Eternal twice between rests... Looks like you may be referring to the table on page 80 that references how much a monk may 'beef up' his powers with extra ki points. EDIT: except you may actually be on to something. The paragraph right...
