What are you reading in 2025?

Main issue with Crossroads of Twilight is that every plot thread is tightening up for a big thrust, that Knife of Dream then delivers. At ghe very least. He found his way out of the structural maze in the last book, which set the end up for success.

What are you reading in 2025?

Very much worth the effort, very rewarding as a reread particularly.

Passes the "read aloud" test with flying colors across the board.

What Non-D&D Would You Use For A Dungeon Focused Campaign

I've heard very good things about Torchbearer, from @pemerton especially.

What are you reading in 2025?

The Slog is much better on re-reads, at least. Removed from the building pressure of "What Happens Next???" there is a lot going on there. Path of Daggers might be the book where Jofdan most effectively conveyed the phenomenal experience of being in the military facing combat in Vietnam.

What are you reading in 2025?

The problems with "The Slog" (which are oversold) are structural, not prosiac. The text remains very readable throughout. Everything thst happened in thst section did actually need to happen to achieve the ending, spending more time cooking would have led to a restructuring not a shortening of...

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I mean...they will. And they will probavly get away with it, too.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

It is not a misconception at all: they were announced together, and it was marketed as a tie-in through the release of Early Access. Was it a particularly well-executee tie-in? No, but it was nevertheless specifically a tie-in.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

I mean, of everything WotC does, "being diligent about QA" is actually on the better end.

Wizards of the Coast Re-Registers Dark Sun With USPTO

The problem is that D&D book/box set production is like 2 years, but video game production is 6 years. Hence why the BG3 tie-in came out with Early Release.

What are you reading in 2025?

Check out the audio book preview, they do bring the text to life, and the books are very much worth the time.

What are you reading in 2025?

Jordan was a master of languid, luxurious prose. Having met him and listened to him speak at length in person at a signing, he spoke exactly how he wrote (a trait I have often observed of major writers, like Martin, Sanderson, or Pratchett). Prose is an artform, and enjoyment of the actual words...

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

Ah, apologies, that wasn't clear: I meant it is possible we might see something like what they did at PAX Unplugged in December 2023, when they announced Vecna and Infinite Staircase. So after Eberron releases, we may see some sort of announcement.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

I mean, historically, for most of 5E they didn't announce a slate she's of time, but one product at a time. However, I would wager they will do something like what they did in 2023, and lay out the 2026 slate before the Holidays, probsvly at a Con.

What are you reading in 2025?

Sure, different artworks. But don't sell pop songs short: KPop Demon Hunters, for example shoes the raw intense power a concise well done song can have, even if it is not Beethoven's 9th symphony. "Repition with difference" is one of the most fundamental cornerstones of literature as an...

What are you reading in 2025?

Nooooooo, the hand feel of a giant fat book is so delightful. The heft, the sensation of turning the pages. E-readers are souless, for me.

D&D General Does anyone else starting to feel like FR: HoF & FR: AiF were starved of resources because of the Core Books

It might make more sense if you look at it as a year of weekly casual play. This is a game product, for people who play a game: a ton of actionable game material is what most people are looking for, obviously.

New Unearthed Arcana Brings Back Five Subclasses

Yeah, Arman is the managerlike Crawford was before retirement, but De Armas seems to be the one doing rules R&D in stuff like UA, like Crawford was like 7 or 8 years ago.

    D&D 5E (2024) What's Your 2026 WotC D&D Wishlist?

Jumping all the way back tot he OP...I'd like to see another book in the style of Fizban's and Bigby's that has a bunch of nee Momsters, lore and Adventure hooks for existing Monsters, and such. Like Undead or Elementals, say.
