    Battletech Public Playtest Thread

I'll take a look. Reminds me of DFA and their reduction of range penalties by half. Meaning, medium is +1 and long is +2. They had the same reasoning that folks either turtle or slug it out up close. The effect was nobody ever slugged it out becasue they didnt have to. So, it did change...

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

This chunking or using iron GM ingredients is precisely the type of thing A.I. is good at. No, if you go to an untrained prompt and ask for an RPG adventure it won’t be like this but given opportunity to learn it could spit outlines out just like this.

    POKER FACE (Peacock)

Yeap, I liked Poker Face but it was getting repetitive and running out of road sounds about right. A fun ride while it lasted. I’d sign up for Peacock again but they didn’t have the football special and I’m not paying full price for it.

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

Every map has annotation with files that strip it out for running, a bestiary, and magic item index. Am I the only one who sees these? That clarity helps and is exactly what I was talking about earlier about what I see as thin experiences. I suppose mine would be the opposite of overindulgent...

    Battletech Public Playtest Thread

Thing about rotary auto cannons is they look a lot better on paper. I always am eager to field one and then… it’s just never as much fun as you expect. I too assumed ACs fired bursts but was abstracted for damage but RACs don’t bother me either.

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

One thing folks often don’t get is the APs from Paizo (until the recent change anyway) is that AP modules do not need to be run in their entirety. When you skip the supplemental material you get to about 60 pages in a chapter and with minimal changes you got a stand alone adventure. I know...

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

I use Paizo PDFs even when im playing on table top face to face and keeping track of all I need is rather easy and convenient that way. Prep is more or less just reading the material over and organizing it a way to use it as I need it during the sessions. I really dont know how they could make...

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

That really sounds like dammed if you do situation. Folks complain that the adventure is a railroad if they can run it like a script, give them a kit and its not straightforward and requires too much work. 🤷‍♂️

GMs: What is your prep to play ratio?

I really dont understand these critiques of modern adventures. I have never viewed them as scripts, but as kits. The supplemental material is a great bonus reading pleasure for me and a springboard for my own ideas to bring it all to life. I dont need to pay somebody for a map and list of bullet...

D&D General What are your reasons for doing something because "It's what my character would do"?

Im far more likely to buy into this arc idea than the absolutist archetype. The absolutists are the types that just declare things like "Tobin the palladin destroys all undead" and they proceed to do so regardless of context even if it means the only result is essentially suicide for dear Tobin...
