Pineapple Express: Someone Is Wrong on the Internet?

Apropos of nothing. When I have given instructions to the entire class (university) and then have to walk around and repeat those exact same instructions to EVERY SINGLE STUDENT individually, even those students who are sitting right next to each other... well, let's just say this is not doing...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

Thanks for letting me vent folks. I do feel a bit better.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

Yeah. Went to the Grove. Freed the goblin. Cool. Spent like half an hour trying to find the damn druids then another half an hour trying to find the bloody door to go see the head druid woman. Yet another perfect example of pixel bitching. Sorry, I don't mean to be so negative. I'm just...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

To me, that's even worse. "Hey, here's a bunch of plot hooks, but, don't actually follow up on them because they're not all that important." :erm: You are really not selling this to me. "Hey, I want to like this game, but, game play is really frustrating." "Oh, that's okay. It's supposed...

The D&D 4th edition Rennaissaince: A look into the history of the edition, its flaws and its merits

So, this thread popped back up in my watch list, so, I figured I'd take a look. And, lo and behold, just a few short posts below my last post on the thread, a glowingly perfect example of what I said. I mean, this is just delicious. A thread necro a year later that perfectly encapsulates...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

Was playing on my laptop - so, 15 inch screen. Not very big, but, not tiny either. And, considering there is a shopping list of Reddit posts on exactly this issue, I'm thinking this isn't just me. Like I said, I'm certainly not a completist by any stretch. I'm just doing pretty standard...

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

Not trying to stir the pot, but, what was wrong with it? Favoritism?

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

Wow. I did not expect that. Basically, I'm just really frustrated with the game. I've spent WAY too much time trying to find stuff. A door in the goblin/ruined town that leads down into the necromancer's lair took me quitting the game and looking it up on Reddit. Followed by a talking door...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

This is probably going to get me jumped on, but, I'm finally playing Baldur's Gate 3 and absolutely hating it. It is everything I loathe in an RPG - endless pixel bitching trying to find pointless crap. I've gotten maybe halfway through the first chapter and I've honestly given up. That UI is...

Which team will win Super Bowl LX?

Been a Seahawks fan since the Warren Moon days so, absolutely LOVING this.

Hasbro CEO Cocks and Execs Sued for Alleged Securities Violations

I have to admit, seeing a bad news story about WotC that is so esoteric that no one really cares is a refreshing change. Haven't had a good WotC is Evil headline in quite a while.

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

To be fair, most of the Saddlebag stuff is pretty agnostic as far as 2014 or 24 goes. I mean, I use this stuff all the time, and, other than things like wands that specifically use spells that have been changed, there's very little there that needs any sort of update.

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

Sorry, never tried. Have no idea. To be fair FG does handle 3e and 5e perfectly well 90% of the time.

D&D General The 3.5 Binder was a really cool class

I loved the mechanics of the Shadowcaster. To me, it was a really great way to build a balanced caster that wasn't overwhelming to players. You could focus and get the powerful spells or you could go broad and do all sorts of funky stuff. Yeah, I know, in actual practice it was ... lacking...

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

Sorry, maybe "freelancer" is the wrong word. But, I imagine that there would need to be some degree of conversation about how to integrate material from a 3pp into DDB. Are these 3pp not subject to any errata for example? Nothing has ever changed in these books since first publication? My...

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

Having watched the level of kludging that needs to be done just to make bog standard PHB classes work in Fantasy Grounds (it takes fan made add ons just to get things like Blade Ward to function, for example) I think it's fair to say that it's a LOT more complicated than people realize to add in...

WotC D&D Beyond Reveals 'Partnered Content' Schedule

At a guess, I would think that "picking winners" has a lot more to do on the business side of things than the creative one. Not that these aren't creative products, I don't mean that at all. But, I imagine things like "hits deadlines" and "is available when needed" and all that sort of stuff...

D&D General The 3.5 Binder was a really cool class

But, how would you get that result? In 2024, you could cast a Fireball but it's extremely unlikely. Like about .3% chance. And, even then, that's after you've surged. Most campaigns are never going to see that happen. Having seen more than a few Wild Mages in action, I don't think anyone...

D&D General The 3.5 Binder was a really cool class

When I ran Candlekeep Mysteries, one side plot that I tried to get off the ground was the idea of binders and the sort of "secret war" that the various faiths had going on. It didn't really go anywhere (mostly due to my own lack of preparation than anything else) but, I always thought that this...
