    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I don't think this is why. Fighters in 2024 can do way more than Monks or Barbarians and more than Rogues at many levels. With tactical mind, the 2024 Fighter is generally the best skill Monkey in the game from level 2-6 and they remain the best for very difficult checks even after that...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

Sure, but that is not specific to Wizards and I have not argued Wizards should be better than other full casters. Because Rangers, Rogues, Barbarians and in 2014 Monks are all substantially weaker than fighters at most levels and they don't generate the same Vitriol for being less powerful...

D&D 5E (2024) What 2024 class have you played the most

Actually it is four 1-20 games, but we did not finish them all yet. I forgot the MCDM Lairs of Etharis campaign we played, but 2 of them are not complete yet. So to be specific two 1-20 campaigns, one 1-13 and one 2-10 campaign completed. two 1-20 campaigns ongoing. Those two groups play...

D&D 5E (2024) What 2024 class have you played the most

I am currently playing 5 weekly campaigns (although 1 is a 2014 campaign and in another I am DM). I have only missed one of the 2024 games in the last year (due to a delayed flight out of DC). Those two groups have done 5 campaigns using 2024 rules, 4 that are 1-20 (including two ongoing), 1...

D&D 5E (2024) What 2024 class have you played the most

Some of them are only 1 session, or in the case of the Barbarian like around 25 minutes of play time. Those are also only the 2024 classes though, I am still playing a couple regular 2014 games as well.

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I don't know about all that. The "Wizard supremacists" as it were seem to be pretty content, passive and peaceful to me. It is those insisting that Fighters are more powerful that seem to be the most "angry" among the virulent and vocal posters when it comes to class warfare. Oddly enough, as...

D&D 5E (2024) What 2024 class have you played the most

So this is what class you've played the most since 2024 rules were published, using the 2024 version of the class. I included Artificer, but that has only been out a few weeks and playing the old Artificer doesn't count. It is also only what you have played personally, not what you have seen...

D&D 5E (2024) Ranger sub-class that make somewhat decent melee?

All Rangers are decent at melee, they just are not good at it. I don't think a single class Ranger will ever be good at most levels past level 4 compared to other classes that get extra attack. I think if you want them to be good you need to multiclass them. Dipping Paladin, taking lots of...

D&D 5E (2024) So, what does the Artificer "replace"?

For me the main problem with 4E was the balance. There were different classes, but to me they all felt almost the same. While all versions have their problems 4E was the only version of D&D that did not really even feel like D&D to me.

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I think in the case of Warlock it is because the first try was overwhelmingly negative, similar to making every mechanic a spell with Wizard. I think that is why they gave up on it. Not sure about Sorcerer. I think the things they tried to "save" were things that were more popular .... or at...

D&D General What are the issues with the 2014 Subclasses

Thematically maybe, but mechanically these subclasses are nothing alike. These were my favorite two Warlock subclasses using the 2014 rules, but the kind of character I was building and the kind of campaign I would want one vs the other was very different and it is rare that one of these would...

D&D 5E (2024) Breaking The Eldritch Knight (Eberron)

No it is 13 Dexterity, and the Heavy Crossbow has the same requirement. Also even without the Dexterity you are at disadvantage at long range anyway.

D&D 5E (2024) Breaking The Eldritch Knight (Eberron)

Yes, you are correct. It is situational, but I think generally the Crossbow will be better at level 8 and below and I really like having the 400 foot range on a Heavy Crossbow. At level 9 you get the ability to sap, push or slow with a shortbow, while you still can't Vex with a Crossbow...

    D&D 5E (2024) A critical analysis of 2024's revised classes

I used to get really stuck on names, then I started using Virtue names and transliterated Arabic words and now it is pretty easy for me to generate a name.

Reloading does not require a bonus action.

D&D 5E (2024) Breaking The Eldritch Knight (Eberron)

You fire it once using Truestrike, then throw a dagger with extra attack, then throw another dagger using nick. At 11th level you add a 3rd dagger into the mix and at 17th level a 4th dagger. At 7th level you are looking at 1d10+1d6+2d4+5+3+3=25 damage assuming a 20 Charisma and 16 Dexterity...

D&D 5E (2014) What is your favorite encounter site or dungeon from an official module?

Eh probably the flying castle in Tyranny of Dragons.

D&D 5E (2024) Breaking The Eldritch Knight (Eberron)

I like the build, the only thing I think you might run into issues with is it is bonus action heavy. I also prefer a heavy crossbow for a ranged weapon on this type of build. Back it up with dagger. At level 7 that would look like Truestrike-Crossbow, Dagger, nick-dagger, you lose the...

D&D 5E (2024) Wizards of the Coast promises to release more “CRPGs that are going to be as serious as BG3” without Larian

I am with you on this. I saw all the D&D movies and HAT is the only one that actually feels like an adventure. They almost made parts of it a bit cheesy in that way. It also may be part of why it wasn't a big hit and in fact underperformed.

D&D 5E (2024) Is 5E better because of Crawford and Perkins leaving?

The first time I did not cut it out, I linked the entire post. I cut it out and qouted it so you could explain the context to us. You did as a point of fact say it, and you can't articulate any other context you meant it in. If it is out of context why can't you explain for us what the...
