It seems to be a variant of the "what to do if you don't have a skill that the Bonus Knowledge specialties would apply to" rule. This way even people who have "knowledge skills" can spend their int-bonus "Bonus Knowledge" to know more languages or tool proficiencies.

It is also a way to make people really dead. Put them in the bag for a moment and revivify and raise dead (and similar magic so I assume you'll need Resurrection or more) don't work on the corpse. Makes one think what power feeds on this nourishments/life force/...

Doesn't Supply stored in Bags of Holding and the like lose their nourishing qualities anyway? So Spoiling Spores don't really have any effect inside those bags (at least for the A5E versions)

I really enjoyed the movie but if someone asks why X could do Y in the movie I like to have a better answer than just "it's a movie that didn't follow the rules" ;) And since my 5e GMing has been going A5E all the way I try to find "solutions" for a rules variant that even isn't the normal rules.

I'm thinking of a Quickstart kit with maybe 20 pages max that should be enough to run a one shot and not a whole rulebook. Journey activities/rules can be put into a specific adventure.
