    Amount of Cantrips

We know that the half-elf didn't get his "multiclass" racial power due to the lack of space on the character sheet. It could be that they dropped the third cantrip from the wizard sheet for the same reason. Regards.

    So...Armaunator or Pelor?

Amaunator, Bane, and Tymora are all originally FR deities, but Bane made it to the 4e core deity group. Amaunator and Tymora remain, to my knowledge, FR deities. The pre-generated characters from the D&D expertience were meant ot be used in Escape from Sembia, a FR adventure (as Trolls pointed...

D&D 4E New 4e Info! GAMA Tradeshow Scoop

While I personally agree with you, I expect we're going to get a "sterilised" version of Planescape instead. Cant was, apparently, one of the most despised features of the setting (IIRC, from the pre-3e WotC D&D surveys), and it was recently mentioned somewhere that Tony diTerlizzi is probably...

D&D 3.x How are You Wrapping Up 3.5?

I'm running an on-again-off-again Eberron game that will just... die the moment I get my hands on the 4e rules :) Our regular DM is not overly enthusiastic about 4e (ha says we haven't even playtested 3e yet :\ ), and we don't really know what will happen to his epic-at-1st-level FR campaign...

    Weapons from D&D Experience

(Human) Cleric, Dwarf, and Halfling all have speed of 5 squares. The cleric wears a chainmail, dwarf wears a scale armour (it's not scale mail anymore), and halfling a plate mail. Hopefully, there are no "slow" characters anymore (or, if there are, I suspect it will be reflected in the overland...

Warlocks with wands, staffs and daggers?

Perhaps implements are tied to the power source rather than the class? So all arcanists might use rods, staves, and wands, all divine characters would go for holy symbols and whatever else clerics use, and so on. Regards.

New Confessions: The Down & Under Adventurer

Heh, with names (and gender) changed, that article could've been about me travelling :) Anyways, the thing that caught my eye: "[...]I’d gain a +1 to my Armor Class (which right now is -3 thanks to a wind resistant jacket and a couple year’s worth of kickboxing classes – and yes, -3 is an...

Dungeons of Dread Preview 3: Templates

My guess -- bullete and illithid. The silhouettes at the end of the article resemble those two: bullete could be the last one in the first row, and illithid might be the second one in the last (fifth) row. And they have the same double letters (ll). :)

Worlds & Monsters -- I has it, too!

I can live with most of those, and some are quite nice, but the air archon is... not good. It looks like a freshly washed animated bed sheet, twisted to drain the water away... I know that's supposed to represent a vortex of air, but -- it doesn't. Regards.

Wotc_Huscarl on the Biggie Smalls playtest, part 4.

There's also the fact that all classes now get the unified progression in BAB and defenses (AC, Fort, Refl, Will) equal to 1/2 per level. Careful Strike could be one of the ways through which the ranger (since it's a class ability) boosts his attack bonus; perhaps a part of a tiered system, like...

new playtest report by Steve Winter

We know warlord is supposed to be a martial leader, but we don't know what the exact definition of "martial power source" is, nor the exact abilities of the warlord. It is quite possible that, although a martial class, the warlord will have some limited access to non-martial powers -- perhaps...

So, what do you want to play?

At this moment, I think I'd go for aclassic vanilla flavour: a Gandalfesque human wizard, probably a Servant of the Hidden Flame. Tiefling warlock is also an option (I was a huge fan of tieflings since Planescape, and I loved the warlock since I first laid my hands on Complete Arcane)...

    New troglodytes

I personally prefer the 2e MM Toni DiTerlizzi's troglodytes. They're humanoid only in the most basic sense, and their heads and faces are salamander-like. Although Sam Wood's 3(.5) MM troglodyte isn't bad either. I just don't get the buff lizard hype that seems to be present in 4e ;)

Another Chris Perkins Interview - 4th Edition Realms

Meh... the Realms overhaul is overdue. While the change might cause shake-ups and potentially split the fan base, it will remove the general mustiness from the air. I've read more than a share of threads over at the WotC boards where a relative newcomer to the Realms asked what looked like a...

    New troglodytes

New Realmslore article is up at WotC (link). The article mentions troglodytes as the lich's servitors... and on the pic there's something lizard-like (the flying thing is, obviously, a gargoyle), but it's far bulkier than traditional troglodytes... then again, the lizardfolk concept sketch from...

Honestly, how often have you used gnomes?

I've played gnomes ever since I got in D&D some 15 years ago. Mechanically, gnomes and halflings share two problems: low speed and Strength penalty. These two penalties can really make some character roles difficult to pursue. Flavour wise, I always thought halflings had less flavour than...
