D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

What if you only play D&D....but you own and read tons of not-D&D because in almost 40 years of gaming.....no one i've ever gamed with ever wanted to leave D&D? My research shows that most people only ever want to play D&D because everything else is just imitation D&D any way.* *this is a...

D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

I learned swearing at my mom was NOT a good idea.

D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

I have always wanted to learn how to play canasta. My uncle never cursed like he did when playing that game.

D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

That sounds hard. Nothing is hard unless it is. Nothing is easy unless it is. What someone think is easy or hard is only relevant to themselves.

Is starting a TTRPG advocacy group hard? 🤔

D&D General A Rant: DMing is not hard.

I wonder if anyone can see the irony in this statement?

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

It's telling that this is your takeaway. My statement was simply pointing out that "true fans" can get a little carried away. Have a great day.

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

Not at all. Everyone can like or not like what they want how they want. I am no one. I heave never expected anyone to agree with me on anything. If you are unaware of the toxic traits of the vocal members of (insert fandom here) then you are free to disagree with me.

Shawn Levy Provides Update on Netflix D&D Show

The biggest obstacle to any D&D show will be that it's not about the game itself. I've been rebuked on this sentiment before but my flag is firmly planted on this hill. Also...the fans will drown it in their own inability to like even the things that they like. To the casual viewer they will...

D&D General Ben Riggs interviews Fred Hicks and Cam Banks, then shares WotC sales data.

I'm pretty sure that was his point. "D&D" belongs to all of us.....but mostly it belongs to the people making the money from it. ;) Ask a random person on the street and they'll probably ignore you....i mean.....they'll likely think any RPG is D&D.

D&D General WotC is at it again

Is there Cliffs Notes version of this?

As long as there is something to be divided about, people will be divided. It's the very essence of humanity.

The Many Faces of Roleplaying: How ‘RPG’ Became Everything and Nothing

My joy comes from the seriousness these conversations take on. The high scoring D&D games that I take part in are a close second. I believe the original comment was made in a “tongue in cheek” manner. But then again none of this is ever as serious to me as it seems to be to others. Call...

The Many Faces of Roleplaying: How ‘RPG’ Became Everything and Nothing

So long as everyone is having fun, we are all winners. 🥳

The Many Faces of Roleplaying: How ‘RPG’ Became Everything and Nothing

I would say its semantics; which is the bedrock of things so it seems. If a game you are playing has no win state, isn't it just an activity you are engaging in to pass the time?

The Many Faces of Roleplaying: How ‘RPG’ Became Everything and Nothing

There is no score and no one wins. It's definitely a game. ;)
