D&D General Besides Nimble, are there other stripped down versions of 5e...

I don't even know if that's true. "Damage on a miss" isn't inherently "simpler" that a hit roll.

    Shadowdark Shadowdark: Cursed Scroll #5

Huh. Do you think SD doesn't need other stuff, or that Dionne isn't the right one to do it? Or something else?

Your most "visceral" experience at a movie theater.

Not in a good way: the early 00s remake of Texas Chainsaw Massacre. It never let up. I was deep in my seat losing my naughty word by the end. Hated it

    Shadowdark Shadowdark: Cursed Scroll #5

Ill actually take granularity in a game like SD. Advantage and disadvantage have their place but I think are too effective for this use.

ToV Sell Me on Tales of the Valiant

Tell them to unleash a barrage of lower level spells like command and other save or suck spells. Either they end up contributing, or they eat away at LR until they can unleash hell.

    What's your perfect movie

I am Listening to "Best Movie Year Ever" (1999) and am reminded how many great films came out that year, as well as ones that might not have been "great" but were at least genre-defining and personally impactful. Just to name two: Office Space, and The Matrix (which, if you think about it, have...

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

What I wouldn't give for a GTA 5 like experience except you are a superhero.

    Shadowdark Shadowdark: Cursed Scroll #5

Thanks for starting this thread. I was going to but I have not had a chance to read through CS #5 yet.

D&D General So… psionic powers are no longer purely mental?

Ah, Schrodinger's Players, who do not interact with D&D online, but somehow simultaneously make their preferences known (and always align with the one invoking them). I don't have any preference, other than to just let the designers do their jobs without bringing in public playtest marketing...

D&D General So… psionic powers are no longer purely mental?

How are you confident that is how the "majority" feel?

D&D General So… psionic powers are no longer purely mental?

If you don't trust them or like their designs, why would you buy anything from WotC at all?

D&D General The Revised Monster Manual was released 1 year ago today! How have you liked facing down and using the new monsters?

The ToV MM is superior in every way. It bugs me because it was the MM previews that made me give 2024 a shot, but in the end they did not do anything to make the vast majority of D&D monsters interesting to run or fight. They may be "better balanced for their CRs" but they are still boring bags...

D&D General So… psionic powers are no longer purely mental?

Or none. They could just design the thing, internally test it, and then put it out. The "playtesting" is a marketing gimmick anyway.

    You take that back!

    Nimble expansion

Sounding more and more like a Fantasy heartbreaker than anything else.

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

The only better way to spend your time is killing space nazis (so I started Star Wars Outlaw).

What videogames are you playing in 2026?

I am pretty sure the update specifically coincided with the PS5 release.

What are you even talking about? Max was a major component of that film. But OH NO, there was also another, female main character.
