Your first RPG purchase, in pictures

After hearing about the satanic dangers, my friends and I all vowed to buy Dungeons and Dragons. I had actually already played the Dungeon! board game (I have that too, but it’s in deeper storage), and knowing it was from the same company made it all the more tempting. I don’t have the box...

Spoilers Wonder Man all episodes now streaming

I hadn’t been paying much attention to the MCU lately, but this thread convinced me to give Wondernan a chance, and I’m glad I did! I like that the show did its own thing and didn’t try to follow the conventional superhero formula.

Looking for a good paladin example (TV/Movie)

Considering the OP was about 16 years ago, the son is now old enough to watch all of Excalibur!

    Modiphius 2d20 System Opinions?

I ran a single STA one-shot with 2d20. We liked that the system encouraged teamwork among the characters and liked how the ship itself contributed to rolls, it felt very Federation. We didn’t like the effect dice, but that may have been due to our unfamiliarity with the game, and were happy that...

Do you go in RAW 100%?

When trying a new game we always try for RAW, but we’re not afraid to tweak things down the road if the game’s not working 100% for us. It tends to be a democratic process between GM and players.

What is/are your most recent TTRPG purchase(s)?

So I haven’t gotten to play with them yet, but I’m happy with the purchase. You get around 35 new creatures. The monsters are a good variety of foes, with more in the lower tier range than higher. There’s new flavors of undead, some goblin-y wolfriders, a cube-like gelatinous creature, a...

Trailer Daredevil: Born Again Season 2 Teaser Trailer

I’m otherwise very burned out on Marvel, but the cast of Daredevil is so good I’ll keep coming back. Looking forward to seeing Jessica return!

    Help Me Figure Out Roll20

You're welcome, I hope this is helpful in getting you started! Having a kind of love/hate with Roll20 for many years, I know it can be cumbersome to learn!

    Help Me Figure Out Roll20

And one last thing before I have to depart for the "Real World", with your maps you can create "Fog of War" type hide masks. It's the 2 overlapping circles icon. Roll20 has a fancy dynamic lighting engine, but I never use it because it's too cumbersome and my players didn't appreciate it the...

    Help Me Figure Out Roll20

So as you well know, Dragonbane uses a card-based Initiative, and this is where it gets a little wonky with Roll20. You need to create a "Character" (I have one called Init Tracker"). Set the Sheet Type to "Party/GM", then click the little people icon in the upper right. Once you've created...

    Help Me Figure Out Roll20

Now that you have some characters and tokens created, you can add them to the map just by dragging and dropping. By default only you as the GM can move the tokens around, so in the properties page you may need to grant your players permissions to move around their own characters or allied NPCs.

    Help Me Figure Out Roll20

Once you have a character created, you can assign it a token by uploading a picture. To make my tokens with borders, I use a web page called Token Stamp 2, but it can be any picture. Once you have a token attached to your character sheet, you can edit it to link up to 3 bars with numbers you'll...
