I thought she completely died after the War of the Souls Trilogy. Which one of you brought her back? Confess.

    Asking for Reviews and Feedback

Hello, I am seeking feedback/reviews/generating interest on a fantasy book I wrote on fictionpress. Here's the link: https://www.fictionpress.com/s/3293197/1/Fallen-From-the-Stars Here's the blurb on the story: A human from our world finds himself without much of his memories and cannot...

AMA with Monte Cook (Numenera, D&D, Monte Cook Games, Malhavoc Press)

Joining the party late: 1. Ever read any of the fan modules from your Arcana Unearthed stuff? Or any fan modules from any of your lines? 2. Any chance we'll see a book similar to Memories and Ghosts? 3. When's the next book after Of Aged Angels coming out?

TITANSGRAVE Episode 3 - Danger at the Market

    Wow! Loved this ending!

Tell me what you love about rules heavy games

This is pretty much my perception. The reason why I love Hero System and GURPS so much is that they are toolkit rpgs in which I can take few/some/all their mechanics and create my campaign and setting. It has a serious investment in the beginning, but can be really fun once you get started and...

would you play your least fav edition if asked by friends

I would play if it was a one-shot or infrequent.

    Necromancer Games Under Fire?

In my professional life, I kept my hobby gaming in the closet. In the division that I work for now, it's far more open, but I have in the past worked for companies where if it was found out that I was a gamer, I would be immediately fired because only IT/programmer folks do that "kompuuter"...

Would Paizo Make a Better Steward for Our Hobby?

I'm a little late to this party, but it's hard to say that Paizo would end up making a better steward. They aren't the 800 lb gorilla in the room. I think if they did, even if they did a lot of things right, the dork rage would start popping up. I could complain about WotC's errors, but I think...

Art PACT: Paying freelancers in exposure

I don't think the economics of our society can beneficially provide pay for exposure anymore. It's just far too expensive to have internships or similar positions exist.

    12 Cheats and Their Habits

I would have to contend with several players at the same game who were Lord of the Dice. They all rolled 18's, 19's, and nat 20's frequently. It was really annoying, because one of the cheaters sat next to me and would do it and when I called him on it, he would get huffy about it. After a...

Top Ten D&D Settings of ALL TIME!

Nice poll. Now go out and poll the other 567,345 campaign settings. I want to know which reached the top 10 there!

Organized Play: Can You Learn To Love It?

For the OP, #1, 2 and 3 for the downsides, I've experienced them, but I found them more tolerable and not too often for tournament play. What I hated about organized play was waaaaaay back in the Ye Olde Days of Living City where the most vocal and aggressive player took the certs at the table...

DMs to pay for D&D Encounter materials?

This is kind of like, "We'll publish adventures that people buy and then play in our tournament games." Given the material that they will provide for the module, I think it's okay.

Who here has created their own RPG?

Ron Edwards wrote two articles called Fantasy Heartbreakers and More Fantasy Heartbreakers. I tried to look for the articles, but the links are dead. Maybe someone could post the links. They are interesting to read and there are pit traps to avoid when doing game design (how this links to the...

D&D 5E (2014) New Death and Dying Rules

That would be awesome. I would play a game that had that. Unfortunately, adding a layer of complexity though tends to more trouble than it's worth for most players.

Who here has created their own RPG?

Yep, guilty as charged. Just wanted to do something different, but I don't fancy myself as an inventor or game designer. This was just a bucket list thing to do. My game maybe quite unplayable which I'm okay with because it was more of exercise in accomplishment (writing the game).

Who here has created their own RPG?

I just finished one myself. You can download it under the post The Empire of the Raven rpg in this forum. It's kind of like a colonial game meets monsters and insanity. It was something I originally submitted for Design an RPG in 7 Days contest, but what I submitted was fairly incomplete for my...

D&D 5E (2014) New Death and Dying Rules

I'm probably the minority in this discussion, but here goes. I like the mechanics of death and dying; however, I would prefer that the Con saving throw be difficult. You have three rounds at 0 hp in which to save of which you have at least a 5% chance of automatically saving and getting 1 hp...

The Empire of the Raven - Free RPG for Downloading

Thank you kindly! The whole colonial era kind of theme with monsters and madness was definitely something that I was trying to convey.
