i'm looking for different ways to use the Speak with Plants spell other than the obvious. in our campaign, one of the PC's is a druid. she has caste this spell quite a few times and has never had the spell prove useful. every time she's caste the spell she's gotten pretty much the same result...

Example: Could an Air Genasi Sorceror from FRCS use his 1 use of levitation to craft Boots of Levitation and save his spell slot? assuming, of course, that he/she has the Craft Wondrous Item feat.

Can a caster use a spell-like ability in the place of a memorized spell to craft a magical item? References to books are welcome.

Fighting defensively during a full attack action penalizes all attacks with a -4 penalty but grants a +2 dodge bonus to AC. Can an archer fight defensively using his bow? and if so, do dodge bonuses stack, such as fighting defensively and the dodge feat? References to core or splat books welcome.
