    Age of Worms ancient history

One possible explanation would be that the druids saw that while they possessed the phylactery they would have some leverage over Dragotha, and there are many advantages to having leverage over such a powerful being. Another would be that since destroying a phylactery doesn't destroy it's...

    The Tarrasque is Awake!

I'll run like hell. Preferably in a different direction then most people in the hope that the Tarrasque follows after the larger group.

Core Religion Survivor - Round Six

My votes for Heironeous. It seems the majority of the huge paladin morality debates that errupt from time to time on every D&D message board know to man comes from Paladins following the type of philosphy he represents. While that philosphy would still exist if he didn't, he's a least a target...

A Dozen Crossbows Aimed at You ..

Level 15 characters should not be in serious danger from 12 level 2 characters. At this level they can easily teleport, raise the dead, travel to other planes and perform other incredable feats. They can defeat all but the eldest of dragons, as well as powerful demons and undead. In most...

Complete Warrior: Which classes are you allowing?

I've never really gone through them and specifically thought about each one, but the frenized bezerker is right out for pcs. No sane individual would travel withsome who has a fair chance of ending up attacking it, and deathless frenzy is just a ridicolous ability. The samurai also is poorly...

    Test My Riddle!

It seems a bit to difficult on its own. However since the players would know in one sense or another that there's a waterfall in the area it shouldn't be to hard for them, especially if they decide to take out their map and see what's on there that fits. The tricky part about the riddle is the...

Should the Paladin pay for Evil Magic Items he wants / has destroyed?

It depends on the item. A paladin should pay if he wants to destroy a spellbook with one or two evil spells, although if he simply wants to take the much more resonable approach of destroying only the pages containing the spells themselves he shouldn't have to pay. Their our other items that...

What do the walls of am finite demi-plane look like?

In my mind I've always pictured the edge of a demi-plane as simply being a solid wall of grey, curved enougth that you can see it reaching up covering the top edge of the demiplane as well.

    Stupidest things PCs/DMs have done

I've posted this before, but the absolute stupidest thing I've seen a pc do was during a blizzard deciding to sleep outside to avoid paying five silver pieces for an inn room. Of course this was only the worst of a long series of dumb moves by this paticular character.

The 'What D&D character are you?' test...

Lawful Good Elf Bard Ranger: Certainly an intresting result, although I'm not sure I agree with the classes.

Voting Booth - Public Beta Test #2

Well it seems to work fine. At first it seemed wrong that it didn't give me any error messages even though I did things like give the same product multiple ranks, or fill in the third and 4th ranks without filling in the first two. However thats not broken if its just set up to discard entries...

    "PCs usually die of stupidity"

The chacter who nearly died the most times from stupidty, and I saw nearly as the rest of the party ended up bailing him out most of the time, almost died from things he should have know about. The two notable events in my mind were: Sleeping outside in a blizzard, so he could avoid paying 5...

    Weak Plothooks

In this situation you should always take the hook even if its somewhat out of character. The goal of the game is for the players and the dm to both have fun, and for that to work you sometimes have to play along a little. Besides refusing to bite the hook when the DM has no backup can usually...

PCs vs. The Law -- my players stay out!!

Your Party is in big trouble. With the lack of evidence to prove the city lords guilt, combined with the very public attacks, and the various deaths they caused their sentence would almost certain be execution. Heres what I would suggest. Don't have any of their allies speak up for them...

    Humbling defeats

Let me add to the growing number of people here who has seen a party almost get wiped out by the bear in the forge of fury. What happened was the party saw the two troglydtes in the room first, as the bears cage was at a bad angle to see from the corrider they entered the room in. Being only a...

"STEP AWAY FROM THE LICH CROWN"!!!....

I would avoid putting it on, and just to be safe avoid touching it as much as possible. An item the transforms you into a lich sounds like just the type of item with nasty side effects like turning you evil, or worse. My advice would be to not use it at all, until you've used every possible...

    I'll fight ya fer it.........

Am I the only one here who thinks the best solution would be to have the staff identified and see which character can make better use of it. Depending on w at spells the staff can be used to cast it easily could be more useful to the wizard or the sorcerer, as if the spells on it are unlike...

    The Worst

Frenzied Berzerker. I've never been able to see the point in having someone in your party that will start attacking you if the battle ends quickly. Or will attack you if they get hit by an trap, or any number of other sources of damage. It just doesn't seem suited to be part of a party.

    Which sword would you take?

I would pick #1. The protection from evil while drawn seems really nice. You don't have to worry about charm and dominate spells which can be really nasty if your hit with one at the wrong time. Also if you are effected by a dominate spell while you don't have your sword drawn, the most likely...

    Round 9 Is Over

Blind-fight In the games I've played in concelment doesn't come into effect that often and their are a lot of spells which can help you with some of the same things the feat helps with, so it just doesn't seem worth spending a feat on. In a different game it could easily be good, but you don't...
