    Help my wizard go mad!

I'd suggest that the wizard uses his new-found power to stop whatever the current problem is (is that why they're tracking down the throne?), then decides that there's no reason to stop there - he could be creating a real utopia. His ideas on how to do this, unfortunately, increasingly don't...

He's a Chain-Smoking Detective. He's a Robot on the Lam. Together, They Fight Crime!

I'm not usually willing to de-lurk, but this is easily the best thread title I've ever seen. And well-written, too. Nice work.

    Reworking Skills

I seem to have failed to mention that I don't intend to limit skill ranks by level. It's just that it would require a lot of practice to get skills to high levels without gaining class levels. Archaic and just plain weird insults for roleplaying fun. :)

As long as we're talking about Shakespeare, this comes from King Lear. It may be the one of the most impressive sets of insults I've ever seen in one place... "What dost thou know me for?" "A knave; a rascal; an eater of broken meats; a base, proud, shallow, beggarly, three-suited...

Ars Moriendi, The Art of Dying Well.

Not my character, but still my favorite death: Bolg was a goblin sapper (not in a Warcraft campaign, but the idea's pretty much the same). Our group of about six was sent to a temple of sorts to defeat two giant fire lizards. A few rounds into the battle, Bolg decided that it would be an...

What details do you miss from older editions?

I miss the 2E Weird spell...it died when they made it into another flavorless 'save or die' spell. What happened to duking it out with your greatest fear?
