Can you create a map with pins that open documents beside the map image with OmniOutliner?

They have also all but killed support for Realm Works as well. I guess OneNote is the only real option any more.

I think this pretty much any time news about FFG's version of Star Wars comes out.

This is not a good idea. It's like making video games into movies. Why are they trying to make the experience of playing a table top RPG into a video game? Just make a CRPG! (like Baldur's Gate/Icewind Dale/etc.)

What are the maps like? Are they just reprints of the originals?

A tv (actually a 27" monitor) with a piece of clear plexiglass on the top. I use some styrofoam blocks to keep it off the table a bit and connect a laptop to it and run MapTool on it and my DMing laptop. Then I just fog of war the whole deal as we play. If I did it again, I would get a 4k 40" TV...

We use a LED TV to do this instead, it works out really well. I've tried map tiles and flip mats, it just slows everything down. If I didn't have the TV, I would just go back to hand drawing a blank dry erase grid.

It boggles my mind that FFG is doubling down on their narrative dice system, it must make them $ but I just don't understand how anyone can like it.

After D&D 5e's spell system, I feel like the Pathfinder/3.5 one seems antiquated and rigid. I'm also not very inspired by what I am seeing here, this is just a space cleric/wizard. The actual spells will define the feel of the game more...I guess.

I had the exact same experience. It seems interesting when you read about it, and for a boardgame mechanic the dice system seemed interesting, but when you try and put it into practice it is way too slow and clunky. Try running an encounter with more than 3-4 NPCs and it is a nightmare. I don't...

I can't believe how low on the list the encounter builder/tracker is. To me this is the most important feature they could be working on right now.

Uggh... I gotta say, in the era of X-Wing miniatures those paint jobs look really rough.

FG is amazing I am just waiting for a couple of tweaked features (the token box is not well organized mainly), other than that, this is the single best way to play RPGs short of in-person PnP. It looks good, you can share images, you actually roll dice, you can mask maps and slowly reveal them...
